Hot Wheels - Porsche | We're back!
The Rider
We're back! Smile

-- A nice result with Jeffery, after trying to go with the stage winner, but can he hold onto a top 10 place?

MrUfo87
sutty68: A decent result? You mean a very good result! Wink

The Rider: Yeah and this is page 50! Smile A Top-10 place would be very nice but there are some strong riders over here.

Settimana Ciclistica Lombarda by Bergamasca – Stage 2

Stage Preview

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Settimana%20Ciclista%20Lombarda%20by%20Bergamasca/Stage2_zps8b74a4b9.jpg

The second stage here was the only flat one. It was a local course which we rode a few times. We had a big breakaway and Burton was in it. Actually there didn’t happen a lot during the stage. When the gap was fifty seconds Visconti attacked from inside the peloton and rode to the breakaway. When he was there the gap increased and eventually the breakaway was sprinting for the victory.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Settimana%20Ciclista%20Lombarda%20by%20Bergamasca/Stage%202/PCM1501_zps3724b8a3.jpg

It was Visconti himself who took the stage victory. The peloton came just too late. The rider who finished last of the breakaway, Burton, finished just ahead of a very fast Veelers. Apparently some riders in the classification lost time so Rodrigues moved up to the seventh position in it.

Without any mountain sprints today it’s not very strange that Lee still wears the mountain jersey. Now we have two hilly stages left, which aren’t very long and both have only one or two hills.

Today's Winner

Hopefully Aguilar can climb into those podium places before the end of the race Smile

sutty68: There are three strong riders in front of him, but everything can happen in the hilly stages. Would be a very nice result in a field which is quite strong. Smile

Settimana Ciclistica Lombarda by Bergamasca – Stage 4

Stage Preview

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Settimana%20Ciclista%20Lombarda%20by%20Bergamasca/Stage3_zps1342bcee.jpg

The third stage was the first of the two final hilly stages. Well, hilly, one hill on twenty kilometre before the finish. That was the only part of the stage which was uphill, the other kilometres were climbing. But of course this hill could make the difference.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Settimana%20Ciclista%20Lombarda%20by%20Bergamasca/Stage%203/PCM1503_zps427e16f2.jpg

We had a breakaway with five riders and once again Burton was one of them. Theoretical he’s the best climber but that doesn’t mean anything in the race. He wasn’t the strongest on the hill and he had to let two riders go. In the peloton there were several riders who attacked but it didn’t make any sense. The classification riders stayed together.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Settimana%20Ciclista%20Lombarda%20by%20Bergamasca/Stage%203/PCM1504_zpsc63bd677.jpg

The French rider from Schuller managed to stay in front and he took the stage victory. Behind him was the peloton on 27 seconds. Unfortunately Löfkvist has the same amount of points as Lee and the race jury decided to give the jersey to Löfkvist. Hopefully Lee can take it back tomorrow.

Today's Winner

A lot of the guys losing time today Sad, but Aguilar and Rodrigues still looking good on the GC Smile

sutty68: It doesn't matter how much time the others lost, as long as the leaders don't lose time. Wink (and all our riders finish within the time limit)

Settimana Ciclistica Lombarda by Bergamasca – Stage 4

Stage Preview

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Settimana%20Ciclista%20Lombarda%20by%20Bergamasca/Stage4_zpsf4603aba.jpg

The final stage had almost the same profile as the third stage, although this time the climb was thirty kilometres before the finish and the finish was uphill. This stage should fit us more. Let’s see what we can do.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Settimana%20Ciclista%20Lombarda%20by%20Bergamasca/Stage%204/PCM1505_zps0c2e69df.jpg

We had a breakaway with three riders and this time Lee was one of them. Also Lee was theoretical the best climber, but just like yesterday, when Burton was in the same situation, the other two rode away from him on the climb. Betancur attacked on the climb and just before the mountain sprint he passed Lee. Lee thought he took the lead in the mountain classification, but he didn’t. He passed Löfkvist but Betancur took points as well and now he had the same amount of points as Betancur. Eventually the breakaway got caught and we got a mass uphill sprint. Rodrigues was already riding to the front to position himself in a good place. Brambilla passed him and he tried to follow, but he couldn’t overtake him.

Suddenly Betancur came from nowhere and took the stage victory. Rodrigues finished third which is a good result. He took the seventh place in the GC, while Aguilar took a very nice fourth position. Unfortunately Betancur got the mountain jersey. Lee finished second with the same amount of points. The team did very well here and now they finally can take some rest, because we haven’t a race at least the next ten days. After that the first Rheinland-Pfalz Rundfahrt is coming up. We’re looking forward to it!

A nice final stage from Alexandre Rodrigues Smile and with two riders inside the top seven it was a pretty good race for the team Smile

Lets hope the guys produce the goods in Germany Smile

In that case we will be looking forward to a traditional HWP big preview! Wink

-- As MrUFo seems to be one for the milestones I'm surprised he hasn't mentioned 1,000 yet! Pfft

MrUfo87
sutty68: I mainly hope they'll win the race instead of producing goods. Pfft

The Rider: Traditional? We've had only one HWP race before! Pfft No, eight (seven) posts to go so it's too early to mention that. Pfft

I have a feeling that they will win in Germany then Pfft

August was a very good month for us. We’ve taken some stage victories and jerseys we also rode some good classifications, actually too many to summarise them here again. The first month for our trainees went good as well with a stage and mountain jersey for Lee in Portugal. Well done! September won’t be a too busy month for us. Actually we’ll only ride the Rheinland-Pfalz Rundfahrt, which is probably one of our last races this year. At least it’ll be the last stage-race. We’ll probably ride a final race in October to end the season, and of course our Fan Day will be there as well. Let’s hope the Rheinland-Pfalz Rundfahrt will be a good race for us, because it’s a HWP race and it’s in Germany.

Rheinland-Pfalz Rundfahrt – Preview

Next week the first Rheinland-Pfalz Rundfahrt will be held. Although the race has been there until a few years ago this is a complete new race so we won’t use any of the statistics of that race. First let us have a look at the course of the race.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Rheinland-Pfalz%20Rundfahrt/Stage1_zpsd4397e9a.jpg

Stage 1 | Mainz – Mainz
Stage 1 is a flat stage on a local course which we’ll ride three times. A mass sprint is expected today so the first rider who’ll wear the leader jersey will probably be a sprinter.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Rheinland-Pfalz%20Rundfahrt/Stage2_zps4a9cb24b.jpg

Stage 2 | Bad Kreuznach – Trier
Stage 2 goes from Bad Kreuznach to Trier in 135 kilometres. It’s the first of four hilly stages. The final part of the course is flat so a sprint of a smaller peloton is expected, although a breakaway could stand as well.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Rheinland-Pfalz%20Rundfahrt/Stage3_zpsddfa758c.jpg

Stage 3 | Trier – Cochem
Today’s stage is 163 kilometres. At the beginning of the stage there is immediately a steep climb and a mountain sprint. After that we got some smaller hills which follow each other fast. After that we’ll ride three local courses around Cochem. The winner of the stage will probably attack on the final time we climb during this stage. A solo victory or a sprint with a very small group is expected. But also today the breakaway has a chance to stay away, because the first time gaps are already created during stage 2.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Rheinland-Pfalz%20Rundfahrt/Stage4_zps54327da9.jpg

Stage 4 | Cochem – Koblenz
A mostly flat stage but because of the climbs it’s registered as a hilly stage. The winner will probably the best sprinter of a select group.

i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q650/Jussie4/2014/Rheinland-Pfalz%20Rundfahrt/Stage5_zpsa09ed608.jpg

Stage 5 | Bad Ems – Bad Ems
Three local circuits and a final climb completes the first edition of the Rheinland-Pfalz Rundfahrt. It’s by far the most difficult stage of the edition and it could be that the winner of the race will be someone else than the rider who started the stage in the leader jersey. The winner will probably come from a small group or maybe he’ll take the victory solo.

We haven’t presented you the leader jersey of this year’s edition so here they are!

Other well-known riders who will participate are: Branislau Samoilau, Alexandre Serebryakov, Yauheni Hutarovich, Matthew Brammeier, Enrico Battaglin, Ivan Rovny, Jan Ghyselinck, Óscar Sevilla, Raymond Kreder, William Bonnet, Bram Tankink and Sven Nys.

Hot Wheels - Porsche
Hot Wheels – Porsche will start with these eight riders:
131. A.Rodrigues
132. J.Aguilar
133. W.Burton
134. G.Carty
135. T.Gowan
136. J.Lee
137. T.Rodriguez
138. C.To

Alexandre Rodrigues will be their leader, but they have more good riders from who we may expect some things. Jeffery Aguilar hasn’t showed a lot from him this season so we expect him to be good here, while Will Burton did very well last month at the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. Tom Rodriguez could be good on this terrain as well, while we’re curious to see what the trainees Carty, Gowan and Lee can do here. Cheng Siu To completes the selection. And once again there’s no German cyclist in a HWP race in Germany...
