You know, future of the world, wars and how it was with that girl - not how to get her in bed, at least i did not need someone to advice me.
And alcohol is a hard drug? Come on Ian, are you amish or what? You like all the junkies and drunks who made that special music, they would never do that without it.
Everything is bad when overused (drugs, power, sun, cars).

Scary shit.
Female politicians = bad.
Or maybe I just think that way because I live in Australia and our PM is a disgrace.
That's quite a statement. I think you've managed to be misogynistic, sexist and guilty of gross generalisation in the space of three words and a symbol.
Marie Le Pen's popularity should be feared because of her (and her party's) ideology. Not her vagina.
No, he is being very true. Almost every female politician i heard about, sucked. But also almost every male politician sucks, so you are both right...
I see we have the feminist league here, every time someone says something about women, there is a group saying SEXIST (same with racism)! And nobody have problem with posting pictures of half-naked women, that is sexist. Unlike speaking about something that women cant do so well like men (there is also ton of things women do better than men).

Well, what's a man without a little contradiction? Everyone can do whatever the hell they want. But alcohol kills way too many people nowadays it should be considered as it is: a hard drug, a killer.
And I may like Morrison, his music and respect his intelligence, I still think he was a real asshole to a lot of people and a pathetic drunk at times I wouldn't want to be a friend of his, really

He sure was an asshole.
But this was not only about alcohol, but things like acid and others opening the Doors of perception...
I agree alcohol is the drug and killer (that is why i dont get marijuana is banned when alcohol is not-money is the answer). I drink lots of beer sometimes, but that is not much of a risk though. Also wine is my favourite. But i dont drink shots like 5 years now.
But cars are also killers, anyone here also without driving license from conviction? As that is my case...i ride bike, go for a walk or take train or bus. Of course some days i am going by car as the passenger, but i hate them and try to avoid that.

Well, acid doesn't harm anyone (except bad trips, maybe), and the same goes for marijuana, if not overused like anything else. And I've no problem with musicians from those times using that, because they created the greatest 10 years of music together
Agree with the cars. I drive myself, but I might be the only one in Belgium who never crosses the speed limit, I just like cruising around, easy-like. At night, with some nice music in the car, at an easy pace, that's me riding |

Yes, it can be explained as sexist, but still it is true. I dont see a single reason why it cannot be said, if we are not trying to be super politically correct hipsters (who i dont like).
I see tons of more sexist things every day. Also saying for example that there should be certain percentage of women somewhere in politics or jobs, is sexist even more, because abilities are important (as you said).

But if the men who are already dominant in parliament/business etc. can't see past their prejudices and judge women for their abilities and not view them as lesser beings then quotas are an effective way of bringing things in line and giving women the opportunity to demonstrate that they are just as able as the men who are in charge. |

That I agree with. People should be judged on who they are, not on their gender.
This on the other hand

is moronic. The argument was that saying because a politician is female, she is bad, is sexist. Saying that's sexist is not trying to be "super politically correct hipsters". What an utterly ridiculous statement from you.

TBH, here, in Australia, pre - Gillard, there were many interviews with people, and a surprisingly large amount of answers were "I'm voting for Gillard because she's a female" or something along those lines.
I agree that politicians shouldn't be judged on their sex, but historically female politicians haven't had a large amount of success, and are in most cases, a mistake to have voted in (in democracies) compared to their male counterparts at the time. What is required is a politician to go against the norms.

Angela Merkel is very successful and popular here in Germany. She's regularly the most popular politician (well, behind our Federal President Gauck, but he has no executive powers). I think it's mostly because of her calm attitude and supposed fortitude. She almost never says anything even slightly controversial or provocative, so she's very hard to attack personally. The popularity of her conservative party has been sinking, but not her personal popularity. While I don't really like Merkel, I do think that this calm and more factual way of making politics that women often have can be something constructive.

Yes, Angela seems to be one of the exceptions to the general "chicks suck at politics" ideology that seems to have taken place in modern politics.
Edit: Apparently, chicks suck politics. Accidentally a word.
