I heard something on the broadcast of the WC today:
Bruyneel has put Brajkovic available on the transfer market cause he still has to much riders under contract. He offered him to Astana on some kind of loan and Astana wanted him but they said that Bruyneel's team than would have to keep paying Brajkovic's checks. Is it actually possible to loan riders in cycling (like in soccer)?
I think so, at least back in the days it was case. If memory serves, Ronan Pensec went on loan for a half season or something. Not sure though, I was a tad young to understand those subtilities. Might have been a transfer to Novemail.
Brajkovic ---> BMC, i hope!
You know what they say about too many cooks...

I just finished watching " chasing legends " (the movie about HTC-Columbia ) and it would not suprise me in the slightest if Cav and Eisel ended up together, They were best friends, better friends than Cav - Renshaw. |

To make them "Butt Tanners" ? I had never thought of that, but thank you. |

Belgium television is reporting that Cancellara isn't happy with the merger and is rumoured that there are talks with Saxo. Will be hard to believe though. |

I haven't heard anything in Danish news about Cancellara talking to Saxo.
Only "news" regarding Cancellara and Saxo that I've seen was a few days ago, when Cancellara was saying stuff like "cycling is a small world, you never know who you run into" and such things. This was reported as part of an "attempt" by Cancellara to improve his relationship with Riis, after he destroyed it by the way he acted when he left Saxo.
That's not to say that Belgium television is wrong though.
Cancellara may very well be unhappy (as it was also reported about Fuglsang), but it hasn't led to transfer rumours in the Danish news that I know of.
(Riis said that Fuglsang had a contract and therefore wasn't of interest to Saxo).
Oh, and while on the subject of Leopard-Radioshack-Whatever-They'll-Be-Named:
First that list of 11 riders being kicked from Leopard was announced.
Then the new manager publicly guaranteed a place for all riders under contract.
That turned out not to be the case afterall, as Anders Lund has been informed that he wont get a place in the team after the merger, and has been asked to find another team, although he has a contract for one more year.

Gotta love how this team operates...even if it's towards riders who isn't exactly key to winning TdF for their whiny captain. |

Can a slovenian poster please confirm if this does indeed say that Brajkovic said he's leaving Radioshack? Looks like it to me

I'm not Slovenian, but our languages are very similar.
''Dirka je bila hitra. Kot reprezentanca smo dobro dirkali. Sam sem dal vse od sebe in mislim, da smo tudi s 7. mestom lahko zadovoljni,'' je dejal Jani Brajkovic, ki je tudi potrdil, da zapuÅ¡ca ob koncu sezone zapuÅ¡ča ekipo RadioShack.
"The race was very fast. We worked good as a team. I think we gave our best, so we're pleased with 7th place." said Jani Brajkovic, who also confirmed, that he is, by the end of the season leaving Team RadioShack.

If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

Thanks Deda
So he's leaving a team where he wouldn't be leader because of the Schlecks, to go....where?

It'd be great if he went to Vacansoleil or another similarly exotic team.

The question still is, if he is going from Radioshack to Radioshack-Nissan-Trek or somewhere else..

Yes, he was. Then he quit cycling, did some races as a marathon speed skater, but made his comeback in the Dutch TT-NC and rode some races for a small team (don't exactly remember which one, Jo Piels??)

#999!
Also, what are the chances of Brajkovic riding for GreenEdge? There, in reality, isn't that long before the beginning of the season, and the later you leave it, the worse it gets for a variety of reasons (team bonding, equipment issues, etc). If not GreenEdge, then who?
