Well, I'd been thinking about it for a while, and now it's here; I've just bought myself a racing bike. It'll be ready for me to come and get it thursday though...
But it's not just a bike: A Trek Madone 4.7. I'm really pleased with it
The 4.7 is a great bike. I understand getting it if you don't have the money for one of the higher end ones, but I would have recommended going up to 5.2. There you get ProjectOne, OCLV Black (the same frame being used by Astana this year), along with Ultegra SL and Race Light wheels.
That said, the 4.7 is a very nice bike, and I think you'll like it.

The 4.7 has Ultegra SL as well
And well, if there hadnt been the discout, this one would've been over my budget as well so... |

Yeah, but not the better wheels or frame
plus the 4.7 is built in taiwan, whereas the 5.2 is built in the good old US of A (Waterloo, Wisconsin to be specific)
Still, I completely understand why you got that one, and its a fantastic bike |

I do like the paint job, and at least that one has external cable route unlike the ones above which have internal routing, ruining braking.
In other tech news, Specialized has almost sold out of all its road bikes in Great Britain, the launch of new models is being brought forward by 3 months. There is no new top end bike coming out depite speculation, purely and simply the fact that there isnt much more room for improvement. Trek are releasing a new one, it makes sense to take advantage of lance, but i doubt it will wow the customer due to the lack of tappered head bearing lining up with downtube. |

Trek isn't really releasing a new one, they are just re-launching the pilot under a different name, and with a little different design.
Over here in the US, Specialized made way too many high-end road bikes, and are rolling out sale after sale to get them off their shelves. |

So, after they called manday they didnt have the 4.7 in my side in the end, I went with the Trek Madone 4.5. And its here now
I went with the Garmin teamkit (short sleeves) and the Kayusha kit (long sleeves). Being Dutch Rabobank would be too much of a cliché, belgian stuff is out of the question and then Garmin and Katyusha where they best looking imo and in that order.
Though, I've got a question. Because with the gears there's something rather weird I think. If one of you can answer I maybe wont have to go back to the shop tomorrow (although its 100m from my school )
Because if I change gear with the complete brake on the left/front the chain goes to a bigger wheel = a bigger gear.
But if I do the same on the right/rear, it goes to a bigger wheel as well, but in the rear that means a smaller gear.
Shoulndt it be that the same way of shifting on both sides has the same result in gearchange? I find it rather weird... |

It's different.
raar1991: That's what you like best. I prefer high cadence, others like slow. |

Both....There are many ways to train your stamina, but as a basic; much training with a heart rate of no more than 70-75% of your maximum heartbeat, shortly said, that builds you up. It is not so important if you are on low or high gears, but if you are training a lot, I would prefered a relative fast frequence. |

I've been sick for more than a week now, almost killing myself! I've only got a "powerful cold", but last time I was on the bike or I trained, was last saturday. And now I'm getting worse.
It's a race next wednesday, and one week later I'm going to the French Alps, cycling for two weeks. Hate the f*cking cold! |

That's pretty much like mine if I remember right The TdF prologue in London was like 600 watts by Cancellara. That's awesome! |
