Man
I hope he slows down soon. I don't think i can bare him winning every bunch sprint for the next 5 years.

It was really awesome stage today, i think the plan was Ciolek to lead him out. Cav moved into Chavenels wheel and then blew past him. Great win, but the closest one so far. |

Cavendish has certainly answered every question any critic could ask of him. If he could get over hills a little bit he'd be winning a green jersey already. That's really the only thing left for him to prove... that he can climb decently enough to win a green jersey. |

he can get over the mountains, he doesn't go for intermediate sprints.
He's tired. Lets see if he can do anymore.

Not so much a matter of getting over the mountains... it's just if there's a hill within 15km of a finish Cavendish doesn't seem to be in the mix. Stages like the second one in this years race take him out of the mix... while guys like Hushovd, Zabel and Friere can finish near the front.
The only thing really missing from his game is the ability to absorb a late hill and still compete in the sprint. On flat stages he's proven he's the best in the group right now.
Or who knows... maybe he can already handle that kind of stage and it was just Ciolek's turn to contest the sprint. |

I tend to prefer my sportsmen to be a bit more humble, "People wonder why I am so cocky, well I have just given them a reason why I am so cocky." Give me Indurain, Le Mond, Nadal or Federer in front of a camera anyday. |

Anyone heard what they'll do in terms of the withdrawn riders points in the green jersey competion?
I know they haven't adjusted in the past, but if they did invalidate the places of the SDV riders, Kirchen would gain 5 points on Friere.
Kirchen is probably going to be 30-40 points down at least after today. But after today's stage the only sprint finishess will be the final stage... and possibly stage 19 (hard to tell). With some solid finishes he could be even with Friere again going into stage 19.... and possibly ahead on the final day if he can eek something out of the time trial and 19 doesn't come down to a sprint.
Or will Friere take enough intermediate sprints that it won't be a contest? |

I'm sorry, but I just can't stand this any longer. Cavendish is fast and fantastic, yes, but how about giving credit where it's due? Gerald Ciolek is, at this moment, the best leadout man I've ever seen...and he's THE YOUNGEST GUY IN THE PELOTON!
Quite fantastic.
Give the man some credit.

Another great win, today Cav had less of a lead out by Columbia and he went for of a follow someone elses wheel. Great win, but i talk about Cavendish to much and it probably annoys people. Feillu did really well today and so did Haussler. |

It is hard not to talk about Cav when he takes 4 stages, but Ciolek is having a stormer at the moment, great lead out guy. |

He should be in another team as the main sprinter. |
