Will they change teams one day actually? I don't know if you could go with them, but if that would be possible, it would be alot more realistic if you'd do that |

@ste_18: Thanks, me too
@Logghje: Thanks we'll see what happens. (difficulty is higher)
@TheManxMissile: They don't dope
@Jakstar22: Thank you
@Logghje (2): I have been thinking about that before, but I decided not to. First of all because I wan't to control them Second of all, some riders stay with the same team their entire career, it's not that unrealistic (Moncoutie, Boonen I think,...)
@sutty68 Thanks It'll be great returning to the Giro two years later, much stronger! |

Early Season Updates
We're the day before the start of our season, in Portugal. (beautiful country, we might add) This is what happened to far in 2014:
A couple of riders announced their retirement after this season: Menchov, Voigt, Hincapie, Evans & McEwen. Big names and they will be missed.
Goss, now riding for Astana, won the Australian National Championship.
The Tour Down Under was a great success for Cavendish, who won 4 stages.

That's about it, tomorrow we start racing again. See you then! |

Volta à Algarve
This is the start of the season for the both of us. So what do we have in mind here in Portugal? Getting some race days, nothing more.
We're both happy to be back in the peloton.
There's another one present, where I go, he goes... Van Garderen.
Haussler rode a spectacular sprint and won the first stage!

I'm happy to finish inside the pack. Hopefully it's a proof that all my uphill training has payed off. I'm still not over Paris - Nice of last year!
We won't really be competing here in Portugal, so we might skip the next reports, Though maybe we'll get back to you for the final two stages, a probable sprint, my first test, and the time trial, important for Eric.
See you then! |

He wants to mark him pretty well, as he knows he will lose his Tour to Eric. |

Hah! Dominik kicked your ass on that stage!
just kidding. I'm amazed over and over again how you can continue so fast and yet with such a quality. Good luck in 2014!

Volta à Algarve - stage 5
Stijn didn't thought it to be necessary to report about yesterday's flat stage. The road was awfully dangerous and the rain didn't make it better. He decided not to get involved in the sprint.
A time trial, should be to my liking!
It was waiting for Bobridge to have some kind of reference-time.
Van Garderen got started before me. He'll finish 15 seconds behind Bobridge.
Then they let me loose. I raced like I was on a rampage and I just kept going.
It paid off, first time! Now all I could do was waiting...
Well, Spartacus was looking for some revenge on Lotto-Belisol after Stijn took away many beautiful places from under his nose. He squashed my time and wins the stage and the race.
I'm pretty satisfied, though. I beat some strong men here. Too bad I won't ride NC TT this year, I might finally beat De Gendt. But maybe I'll do that at WC TT, or at the Nationals next year, I still have time!

This was just warming up. Now I'm off on a break (already), going to see that the missus has everything she needs! I say good bye and Stijn will bid you welcome in the next race: Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. A race he's never won before, and you know how he thinks about that! |
