You are just too good at this game.
And I like the TDU Banners at Langkawi.
Also good to see Caisse back to winning!

Once again, thanks a lot everyone! Feels great to see so many nice comments. Especially those about the screenshots and reporting style are really appreciated.
Also, don't get thrown away by the huge winning margin. Van den Broeck was by far the best climber in the race, so it was no surprise at all.
@ Teddy - They're nice, aren't they? But the reason I used them was that I think they fitted pretty well, with Malaysian Airlines being one of the main sponsors.
@ ziber123 - A special thank you for that. Hearing that this is your favourite one gives me a big motivational push!
Vuelta a Mallorca next up!

Project squad:
After the success in Tour Down Under, Martens once again gets to lead us through a race. Together with Bozic we hope that this race can become yet another successful story, like the earlier two. It's pretty much all up to the two mentioned guys however, as the rest aren't in that good form yet.

Biggest name on the list is of course number one, Caisse leader Samuel Sánchez, who leads his team's incredibly strong lineup, which includes among others Vuelta winner Juan José Cobo. Other notable names are Bradley Wiggins and Rein Taaramae, who both are here building up form however.
Vuelta a Mallorca - Stage 1
Just like most stage races, the Spanish island tour begins with a flat day for the sprinters. Ten laps on the easy criterium in Palma lies ahead, with an expected mass sprint at the end of the day.
His fourth place overall in Down Under apparently gave Koldo Fernández a moral boost, giving him the confidence needed to be the first to the line today, beating Jurgen Roelandts and Aidis Kruopis, with Bozic finishing just behind, in fifth.

Vuelta a Mallorca - Stage 2
Day two on the flat, providing the second and last chance for the sprinters to show their high top speed in this race.
To our frustration, a breakaway spoiled a great opportunity for Bozic (+5) to win a stage, by staying clear while blocking the sprinters in the finale. Nick Nuyens clinched victory up front, while we got a heavily disappointing 18th place, blocked out by the escapees.

Vuelta a Mallorca - Stage 3
Possibly the hardest day of racing in this five day event. The major difficulty on the route is the first category Puigmajor climb, topping out thirty kilometres from the line. First opportunity for the GC contenders.
Saur's Sébastien Joly timed his move to perfection by jumping out of the smaller leading group in the very last kilometres, pulling out an advantage of almost thirty seconds to the closest followers. Martens finished at the back of that group, along with a.o Samuel Sánchez.

Vuelta a Mallorca - Stage 4
Quite similar to stage three, with the major climbs featuring pretty far out from the finish line. However, the smaller climb just before the finish makes this an even better opportunity than yesterday to create gaps.
Heavy pre-race favourite Sánchez was back to his usual self today and cracked everyone with a powerful attack on the last climb. The yellow jersey of Joly tried to fight back, but eventually had to concede a slight loss, still keeping his lead. Martens again in 8th.

Vuelta a Mallorca - Stage 5
What makes this race a bit special from others is that instead of rounding off with an easy day of celebration, they've put yet another hilly stage. It's easier than the two earlier ones however, so bigger gaps are unlikely.
Remainders of the early breakaway stayed away, and Moises Dueñas could raise his hands celebrating a solo victory. More importantly however, was the fact that Martens won the sprint for third and bonus seconds, moving him up to fourth overall! Joly wrapped up overall victory by preventing Sánchez from gaining any time.

Martens did very good indeed, 4th in Mallorca is actually very good as the race is tougher than it looks on 'paper'.

Martens was regular in the decisive stages, and was able to get 4th. And once again, the reports are 5 star. |

4th isn't bad. The screenshots and the report, are amazing as usual.
