Nice climb, but I didn't understand Scarponi and Nibali... why doing the pace for Contador?
Anyway, superb victory for Anton, really, he did all the climb by himself, and I'm quite happy to see that Menchov is coming back, expect something from him in the last week... |

Contador is unstoppable. I guess the only positive is he didn't win today. |

Nibali should have stopped riding when Bert refused to take over.

Its quite simple. Nibali and Scarponi arent racing Contador, theyre racing each other - and Anton.

Why? To loose his second place overall, which might turn out to be the win in June, to Anton?
That was excellent racing from Nibali, doing what he could to defend himself vs. Anton. |

Great stage. Dupont must be the rider of the week imo, what a ride by him. Where is he from again ? Niemiec after doing good chunk of work for Scarponi finishing on 13th is nice too. Good statement for leadership at Vuelta.
Kudos to Lofkivst for completing he was on antibiotics. And vomited couple of times before the stage. Got a infection in his chest too.

As SN said - there's a race going on inside the race. Smowz and I talked about the GC minus Contador before the stage - I have a feeling that the riders are riding by a similar GC. |

On such a steep mountain wind resistance doesn't really matter.
Tomorrows last mountain, Rifugio Gardeccia, is very steep too, topping at 16% 500 meters from the top. My guess is Anton again, it's almost tailor made for him.

After 4 months you will see the same scene at the top of Bola del Mundo, with that guy in pink behind Anton.

Nice to hear the tifosi booing Contador..
Great win for Anton, and especially another great perfomances from Dupont, Nieve and Stetina.
And the bad day for Kreuziger is here - as always, it came in the most difficult stage of the Grand Tour..

Yes I know that answer and I guess you're right about their minds but it's just... you know what I mean, it's Giro, they're both Italian, for the first time since the start of Giro, there's an attack Contador isn't able to answer... I mean being second or third... nobody will remind it in five years, so at least try to attack him and become the one who isn't afraid of Contador...
Or they're both fan of Moreau way of life... |

I dont understand how you can criticise them? They were both riding as well as they could. They couldnt do any more! The simple fact is that Contador is better than them.

At that time, there's no MTF in the Bola del Mundo. |
