a very good point Aquarius
He will be in great form for the worlds, and as it will most likley be a bit to hilly for the real sprinters, he may have a chance at winning

I would say he's one of the top candidates.

sorry, he's far from being good enough I believe.
Posthuma seems very off form lately, and Clement has been working on his climbing. usually that detracts from TT performance.
anyway, considering tomorrow's TT will be more about who isn't dead than about who can TT, it's entirely possible that we'll have a big surprise as a winner. just as any of the above can win, really.
it's a crapshoot. Off form? lol, Posthuma won the Sachsen Rundfahrt 2 weeks before the vuelta...by winning the TT |

have you seen him at the front? he works little even on flat stages. did you see him in the first time trial? he can do a lot better than that.

the final GC decisions are here (anything to get me away from the neverending pile of work)
Santos González holds the best time currently.

about yesterday's talk of who would win: funnily enough, Posthuma and Bäckstedt, 2 of the guys that people were tipping, finish with the exact same time. heh

basically Bäckstedt wasted himself by copying Chavanel's trademark...he was blisteringly fast at first. won 38 seconds in 7km...then he faded badly.

Not that's probably not the case. Bäckstedt's time at 7.5 km is one minut wrong. That's what the swedish commentory has been told, anyway. And it seems more reasonable cause it would be strange that Bäckstedt lost one minut in the second 7.5 km stint and then he lost just a couple of seconds to the finnish.

that would make sense

you made a mistake writing that, right? because that doesn't make much sense...
because what I was saying is that the timing on eurosport shows Bäckstedt much faster than anyone else after 7.5km and then losing a lot of time.

Yeah, but only to km 15, after that he doesn't lose so much time. He should had lost more time to the finnish if he had gone too fast at the beginning. You don't change pace like that when you are riding a timetrial. That was what I meaned.
