Yes, of course he would have won. Although not by that margin. I doubt anyone will claim that Hesjedal is the 2nd best climber in this race - and he only lost 7 secs.
Why not? At base of Stelvio gap was 1 min and then at finish it was 4 min. Fact is riders like Uran, Aru, Majka, Pozzo are still young, they cant accelerate and then set strong pace, something that Quintana has shown he can do, not this year but also TdF last year. I know Quintana is also 24 but having had a GC battle already is more mature. In final Km itself Quintana would have got 1min if he was in that group because it was very steep and he is very strong.
As far is Hesjedal is concerned, short climbs and 3 huge climbs and bad day is very different, no reason why Hesjedal would not have been up there. |

Sure I just stopped and you wont hear me complain anymore. Never been a fan of Giro, this years edition hasnt made it any better at all.
You should keep watching brother, just treat everyday as a 1 day race and ignore the GC, there still will be cracking racing
