Two nice stages. Boonen with some nice action, Henry outsprinting Sagan and shame that Stybar missed out on Vattenfall (Stybar <3 )

FonsDeSpons - Looks more and more like it! This year we've won Paris - Nice, Tirreno - Adriatico, Tour de Romandie and the 3 Grand Tours. Quite dominating, indeed Smile

Shonak - No mercy at all Pfft with De Gendt and Vergnaud the team has the best time trialist and the best climber. Stybar was almost rewarded for his attacking style, but just missed out.

Faillu - I couldn't agree more about that!

sutty68 - I don't hear them complaining Grin

welker3257 - Spot on. He's a tank. So much body and strength, nobody dares to take him on. I think if he wants to ride the Tour next year, I'm not sure who the team will prefer; him or Henry.

Somehow failed to see this, but De Gendt taking the Vuelta is great, as is Dan Martin coming home in second. Banana

"I think you should go, man," I said, more bravely than I felt.

He looked right at me.

There's a heat wave in Canada. 34°C, I don't think anybody expected it to be this warm here.

The Race
Pinotti went into the break of the day, quite enjoying himself.

Unfortunately it was a closed race. Only in the final lap, I opened the battle of the favorites. Poels did the heavy work.

We kept off the peloton and sprinted for the victory. I had great legs!

But coming fresh out of the Vuelta, Dan Martin takes this win. I'm second. Again. First the Amstel Gold Race, then Plouay. But I'm not complaining, at least I won the Tour!

Well, the pace has dropped. Maybe a bit too slow for my liking, but I can't help it.
With the reports for EPIC and my sister's baptism Sunday, I don't reckon I'll go very fast in the near future. (except maybe Saturday).
I also have 3 tough days Wednesday through next Friday.
Though I'm hoping to race the WC tomorrow or tonight, so keep tuned!

VoetsT - Thanks! The Wedding Crashers is a small series during the story. I started this idea with "Night of the Camembert" a long time ago. These are short stories about things that have happened with Henry in his personal life. He tells them in pieces, breaking up the story. To see what this means, I'll PM you the post where this started, just so you can see for yourself Wink
In these stories he has met Michelle, had a fight with Julien Duvivier, crashed into a ravine, met Sofia. Becca (best friend) came back from Paris. Had to decide between the two and now it's Becca en Henry's wedding day Pfft

The Wedding Crashers - Part VIII
And so the wedding turned into a small disaster. Becca locked herself in the bathroom, what a classic. And I was stuck with Erik, her father. I had a mind to hit him, tell you the truth.

I heard him out. As he as trying to explain where he was all these years, more and more guests started to leave. I stood up and looked at Erik.
"Listen. I don't have time for this now. My wife is in that bathroom and this is her wedding day. If you have some respect for her, you leave."

And so he did.

I convinced Becca to come out just in time for our opening dance.
During the dance, she put her head on my shoulder and cried.

Oh - I hated that guy!

Even though it's not that different from Quebec, this profile is more to my liking. Two reasons why:
1. The finish is flat, my sprint comes in quite handy at times like this.
2. The sprint is not straight forward but with two 90° corners. Slowing down and accelerating is the key here, something I'm quite good at!

The Race
Sagan decided to open the race early - real early. Around 40 kilometers left to go.

Two laps later he got caught. I decided to not give him a chance to catch his breath, so I attacked. He followed nonetheless.

We formed a little group, form which Fuglsang tried to get away immediately. I was forced to do the chasing.

We caught him. And then nobody wanted to take the front. We were in the final lap.

This hesitating allowed Daniel Martin to come back from the back and surprise us by jumping over us!

I bluffed, which was sort of dangerous. But luckily Valverde reacted! Catching Martin, he decided it was too late to drop in pace. He started an early sprint.

Then the two 90° corners came. My moment to shine! I took meters with every corner.

Three riders were in the way, a lap behind, but it was no problem passing them. My first victory since the Tour de France, and just in time for the World Championships!

This is just what I needed for the World Championships. It's my first Classic win. I feel pretty strong and I'm getting better and better at these kind of stages. I still prefer the altitude and length of mountains, but I'm getting the hang of this, too!

See you in a week and a half, for the World Championship Road Race 2015!

There was no way Henry was going to lose today. We just didn't know how he would do it.
