This week there was a mechanic in a Dutch tv show with Cancellara TT bike. Since the show has a general sport fan audience, he was mostly just explaining the function of a TT bike over a normal racing bike, but he said some interesting facts as well.
One of them was that Fabian's biggest gear was 'only' 53-12, because he's been working very hard to make more rpm, but yet he still manages 73.21 km/h as top speed in his time trial in Mendriso (yes, the speedometer was still on the bike, untouched ). According to the mechanic however, that would probably have been on a "slightly descending section" |

Are restrictions way tighter on WC jerseys compared to national champion jerseys or are people just really unoriginal with them every year?

exactly, the UCI specifies where sponsor logos can and can't go. That's the way it is. White, coloured stripes, logo above the stripes.
