There is no rule against eating food wherever it comes from. You just aren't allowed to accept it from a team car, which is why Porte would be the one in trouble.

Could Froome be faking weakness today? Could be a possibility.
Highly unlikely. If we go down that way things just get too conspiratorial. He forgot to eat and suffered because of it.
I thought he remembered to eat but was out of stuff to eat. He didn't bonk really. He lost a minute to Quintana, which was the minute he spent waiting for Porte to get back with the gels.
Gap wasn't anything close to a minute when Porte came back with the gels. |

In short, no. He wouldn't have panicked and asked for energy gels just a few kms from the finish if he was faking it. He was having an energy crisis.
News out here is, officials are giving 5min penalty for Froome for eating in last 20kms plus fine.
Please, please don't be pulling our legs. Let this be real.
It was Porte that grabbed food from the car, not Froome.
Jokes apart is it really matter who went back to get the energy bar.It should be the guy that uses the bar not the guy that goes back to get them.

looking at the standings that is impossible. he would be infront of Quintana before the stage if he lost 10 minutes. think that you're confusing him with Boom

Mollema suffers from a sore throat. (Probably not the only Dutch after the last couple of days)

Who made that tactics for Saxo? It was totally useless and crazy, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Tinkov's work.

As some people wrote earlier, it was Porte who got the food for Froome, so it should be Porte with the penalty. And ofcourse they would never give af 5 min penalty, mostly 30 sec |

Lol 5 mins is a bullshit story and face it, he is the strongest rider and deserves it to win the Tour. Only if he doped it isn't, but nothing is proven. |

Everybody ready to time Froome's climb?
41 minutes on the nose!
What's that? The Alpe d'Huez plus Sarenne?
If it's under 40 minutes I'd be rather surprised...but never say never.
If it's 40 minutes he'll be dropped.
Be interesting to see but I don't think so. I think no-ones gone under 40 minutes since 2006?
Sastre 2008
Ah right well still pre bio passport.
Nope, 1st year of bio passport. Cleanest Tour ever according to Vaughters
Contador was a bike change according to race radio
Ah right, thanks.
Lets see https://www.online-stopwatch.com/large...stopwatch/
My money's on 40-41 minutes but if pushed I'd go closer to 41.
So Froome was close to 41 minutes what do I win?
[lets gloss over that Quintana rode just under 40 at 39:50 ]
Really enjoyed that stage and Purito looking stronger and stronger. |
