so it was you who crashed after about 5 mins
unlucky, at least you got back on. i got caught behind a crash at exactly the same spot last year and me and about 15 other guys were chasing for a whole lap. at the finish half my group gave up so i did too.
what colours where you wearing? i was in the red, green and white beacon kit and i came 20th. what other races you got coming up in the area? might see you around somewhere.

Great April Fools Joke within my team:
Team,
I am pleased to announce that we have just signed Burger King as a new
sponsor for the remainder of the 2009 season. This will entail some changes,
for starters our new team name will be "NCVC Powered By Burger King
Sandwiches." We also have a new jersey with a welcome splash of blue and
yellow colors. Michael and John are preparing an urgent clothing order
consisting of jerseys and shorts for you to wear.
In addition, Burger King is also extending a 50% discount to all our members
valid at any Burger King franchise. The triple whopper with cheese is
excellent.
Myron Lehtman
NCVC President

I shall show you next wednesday
lol, to switch someone is to quickly change your racing line. If someone is following you slightly to your right, and you "switch" fast further right, so now they are on your left, thats basically switching. The problem arises when they are overlapping with your back wheel. Hence they crash, and you go, "wtf!?" and ride off

In that case it was the guy who fell off's fault then, I slowed down on the hill in order to avoid crashing into the guy in front of me, who had a get out of the saddle and drop back 2 lengths moment :/ I slowed but kept straight, got out of the saddle myself and then someone had gone into my back wheel :/ |

Yeah, prone to happen in 3rd/4th cat races. In fact generally speaking when ever I've had a crash it was the guy in front who switched me, but had I not been overlapping in the first place, I'd have been fine. Still, always nice to be able to blame someone for the crash...
In other news, bought some white tires today, so you'll get to see my "blingin'" bike next week, along with Smoothies mean machine...

Considering I have never ridden near/in BHam, no, I won't have a clue where I am. 5 hour epic may well be on the cards... though not through choice. I can climb fairly well. Not the steep stuff all too good, but we'll see.
Should really get Ringo over as well, not too far for him to go surely.
EDIT: Well, you'll get to see my race/training bike and race/training wheels. I've only got the one. I'm an impoverish student.

Nothing like meeting random strangers online... I wonder if my mummy would say yes to talking to strangers?
Should be a good ride. How long we doing? Considering I'm meant to be doing a TT the next day, lets cap it at about 5 hours ok?

Just thought I'd mention my training time in total from Jan 1st to Apr 1st and compare it to anyone else who knows theirs, to get a picture of whether I'm doing the right stuff to be competitive.
Turbo Sessions - 19 (1 Hour each)
Training Hours - 50 and a half hours
Races - 3 - Totalling 186km |

Bissell's Tim Farnham is putting on a race/ride tonight. He has dubbed it the "Wednesday Night World Championship World Cup" ride. Tonight's version has Myself, Tim, My Teammate John, a local cat 2 and Glen Mitchell (Bissell Manager) and whoever happens to show up.

As this is somewhat of a tech thread as well, what do people think of the new Ultegra, its coming out in July, and you can check out the article on cyclingnews.
Now I think it'll be a tough decision between Rival and Ultegra when I get my Madone at the end of the year.

Im an ultimate Sram Man, but the new ultegra does look very appealing. However its yet again going to be over priced and some components look rather bland. I prefer the black groupo but it depends on what looks best on the bike, performance wise sram will be slightly better.
Also here is the ride me Sirium and RJC will be doing on wednesday.
Its not going to set the world on fire, but considering that ive been ill all weekend it's going to be very tough for me.
I have no ideas why it does that towards the start btw.
Just over 1km of climbing. Not bad |
