Janez Brajkovic is being rumoured to Saxo Bank. He's said to be unhappy wth the fact that he didn't get to ride any of the Grand Tours as a captain for Astana, and wth Armstrong's presence in the next season, it seems even more unlikely that it will happen.
Brajkovic does have a contract with Astana for 2009, though, so it'll probably be expensive for Riis to buy him out of his contract. |

It's being discussed on several Danish forums, including Saxo Bank's official one:

Is there any truth to it?

Given your level you could probably ride as a leader (or a very protected rider) in some Pro Tour teams with less leaders than Astana.
Doesn't that tempt you on a short term ?
I was also wondering what your training (or non-training given it's late October) schedule is at the moment. |

Well, the question is: Are you happy with your situation at Astana? You didn't get to ride any of the grand tours this year although you had a great Vuelta in 2006.
And with the team being even stronger in 2009, you might not get to ride any grand tours again which I suppose is your goal, now that you're over the sickness that you've been through. |

It all depends on condition at that certain point. I will have lots of chances to do well.
About my training: just riding and enjoying sunny days. (2-3h /day) |

Worries? I want you to join Saxo Bank. A final quality signing for the team would be good. So, go negotiate! |

Well, I doubt he knows for sure which GTs he'll ride right now when the routes haven't even been announced
Unless of course he's guaranteed on the Tour team, or what I find more likely, as a protected rider/leader at the Vuelta

You would.
Also, it is a lot easier when you have the guy being rumored for a transfer be able to come here and tell you

Except for the fact that I don't thinkt that he or any other pro cyclist would reveal a future transfer on some random forum |

Velo News has an on going interview with Vaughters discussing Garmin this year and next, says they'll talk about Tom Danielson's status for next year on Monday. Anybody have any ideas? |

Yes, but he did reveal some of his feelings on the subject.

I don't understand the move by Phinney. It appeared he had a good thing with Garmin. They were supporting the Phinney Foundation, he lives is Boulder where the team HQ is located. He would ride with some of his buddies (Danny Summerhill). I guess he was enamored by the Armstrong/Merckx connection. |
