Wow, missed this was back Grin Glad Marcus waited on the proposal, think it's a good idea but that didn't seem like the moment Smile

Awesome that Nigeria swept the group and I think it's an easy choice to continue with football in this situation Wink

Yeah, missed the latest update, too. I guess both the proposal and his first NC title can wait, I'll go with football, too.

I think we all missed the previous update.

Glad he decided to wait, I think she is the right one, but it wasn't the right moment, 1st anniversary seemed too soon.

Also seeing as he is already with Nigeria, and there's potential to do more damage long term by leaving than there is by staying I think he should remain with them and choose Football

DavidCorperial
Finally caught back up on this, and I agree Football, though I guess they could see if they could swap the day of the game with another one in that round, also shouldn't Alex have gotten a stat increase when the gender barrier was lifted based upon the normalization as she was previously competing without it?

Fair question, but Alex suffered an injury at the end of Vantage Point that hindered her development a bit and she was banned from competing for a few seasons before rejoining the sport with the now mixed peloton. Since then, her development has been pretty rapid. Alex is one of the best cyclists on the flat across the cycling world. But that hasn't produced a lot of noteworthy results yet.

Next update is coming, slowly but surely. With Marcus Diamond currently injured, I took the liberty to try something a little different and work in a new vantage point. Wink

I got the call mere moments after I stepped off the bike. He must have been watching the race while waiting in the emergency room.

"Hey you," my boyfriend said after I answered his call. "Don't be afraid to attack more. I can never find you in the peloton. But, yeah, I don't want to alarm you but I'm at the hospital right now."

Flirty banter turned into a serious conversation.

"Wait, what happened?" I said very confused.

"Football. I got body checked going for the ball," Marcus Diamond said. "Don't worry about me. I'm fine. Just a couple broken ribs. Doctors said I should be back to normal in a few weeks."

He always had to be the tough guy, but I could hear the pain in his voice.

"Are you sure?" I responded. "Do you want me to come down there?"

"No. No," Diamond said quickly. "Trust me. I'll be fine. Do your thing. I'm going to rehab down here with the team and be back soon. SEG needs you there. Go win a stage for me. You know I'll be watching."

Club or Country: Before Grace Garner heads to France for the 21 most important stages on the cycling calendar, she has a choice to make.

(Club) Fly to Africa to cheer on Marcus Diamond in the African Cup of Nations Round of 16, as Nigeria takes on Senegal. This would boost Diamond's morale for the match significantly as the couple haven't seen each other in nearly a month.

(Country) Stay in England and race the Great Britain RR National Championship and then get in a week of training prior to the Tour de France. This would boost Garner's race day form heading into the TdF.

What a superb race from Grace, thought it was great enough already with the domestique work and constant activity but then the awesomely taken stage win makes it a real breakthrough, and a well-deserved TDF selection off the back of it. And for that reason she has to prove it was no fluke and do her best again there, so Country for me. A shame to be away from each other for the couple here but huge moments for each in their career which they have to take Smile

Following a 29th place at the Great Britain RR National Championships and watching her sister Lucy van der Haar come up short as well with a fourth-place finish, my girlfriend Grace Garner set her sights on starting her first Grand Tour.

I tried to keep tabs on her the best I could while playing international football in Africa, but it's pretty hard to find a stable internet connection at times.

The only bright side of Nigeria getting knocked out in quarterfinals of the African Cup of Nations was being able to return back to the Netherlands to play/train with Feyenoord and make day trips over to France to cheer Grace on.

Simon Yates couldn't defend his Tour de France victory and another Brit took the top spot on the podium after a brilliant time trial on Stage 20 to overtake Egan Arley Bernal. Still, The Guardian finished with three cyclists in the Top 10.

As for Grace, she did her best to look after Simon Yates for most of the race. She did get her own chance to shine on Stage 17 when she managed to get in a large breakaway. But the GC leaders never allowed a breakaway to win throughout the 21 days. It was cutthroat to say the least.

Grace fell into my arms after she crossed the finish line in Paris. It was a grueling three weeks — the longest she has ever ridden in such a short duration. I was happy to hold her upright for as long as she needed.

Before this gets too romantic and you all leave, I have a couple of race updates of my own. One race while Grace was at the Tour and a hometown race back in London with Grace's sister Lucy at the end of the month.

Stat Lock: Due to Diamond's recent injury a stat lock is pending. Any attribute that doesn't receive at least 5 points is at-risk of being locked.

Contract Time: Teams are circling like sharks with the hopes of luring Marcus Diamond away from SEG Racing. SEG obviously wants to keep their budding superstar for the foreseeable future but don't have the money to match the open market bids Diamond would likely receive. Therefore, SEG has approached Diamond with their best proposal with the hopes to get him signed before another team can swoop in. The offer:

Three years, 40,000 euros per month. Plus a guarantee Grace Garner would get a one-year extension on her current contract which would lock her up through the 2026 season as well.

Offer on the table, should Diamond... Accept or Test Free Agency?

Back and ready for more! After losing the Eredivisie title by two points to Ajax last season, we are motivated to make sure that doesn't happen again. But we will have to do it without our top strikers from a season ago.

Liverpool swooped in and bought Nick Foss for 16.75 million euros and budding star Dylan Klok is going to VfB Stuttgart for a modest 13.5 million euros.

On August 10, Feyenoord used some of those funds to buy a replacement striker. Nicolas Messiniti, a 27-old-year Argentinian, was bought for 14.75 million euros from Benfica. He scored 30 goals in 72 appearances for Benfica.

Rumors had it that AS Monaco was interested in me for a while, but then they went out and signed my Nigeria teammate John Hazmat from Atletico Madrid for 67 million euros. I see how it is.

Another one of Feyenoord's new signings, 24-year-old Danish winger Kristian Bagger, scored off an assist by yours truly in Feyenoord's final preseason tune-up match. We coasted to a 2-0 win over Nacional da Madeira.

We start the regular season with hardware on the line. It's the eighth straight season Feyenoord opens the year playing for the Dutch Super Cup. We have won four out of the last five. Standing in our way this year is rival Ajax.
