For those wondering about Turkey:
Unfortunately things didn't go to plan in that I went to school yesterday. Don't worry though, as the last stage will be played tonight and images converted/uploaded. Reporting will probably start tomorrow (Friday) and finish by the end of the weekend. So for you Europeans around midday Friday is the most likely.

That's cool, although you don't have to race everything to start reporting yet

Ah, Michal, why did you? Being beaten by Horner is embarassing.
And no comment to Sagan, he has some kind of dope definitely.
Die hard fan of Tom Boonen and Quickstep since 2004.

Yeah but it just means things will go smoothly. Just finished the final stage too, and the points competition is a real nail biter.

Also interesting to see all those crashed out in the Continental Championships are getting awesome results. Van Avermaet, Vanmarcke, Sagan, Verboven all had a great result right after.

I hope its between NetApp's two hot talents. Supersprinter Walker vs. King of Breakaway Hägg.

Tour of Turkey
An easy flat stage to kick things off. Favourites are Calzone, Coquard and Bennati.
So here we are lined up at the start of the Tour of Turkey; the race of many goals.
The first attack comes from Dermott Walker (TNE) after 3km. Others are slow to counter.
Feunard (SOJ) looks to be the only one interested.
But Peron (TNN) and Taiwanese Champion Jang (CCS) follow, and the peloton doesn't allow them to get away.
They try again this time with Kim Tan (RVL), but again fail.
Walker takes the first sprint points.
Only Calzone (AND) goes for points out of the peloton riders.
Zach Bell (CCS) drops off the pace with 15km to go. He doesn't seem to be feeling right.
The 2 man break is caught with just 5km to go. Belkin and Europcar have trains.
Absolute chaos with 3km to go! Saxo and Androni have made last minute trains, while Europcar, with Coquard in 3rd wheel have dropped way back. Guido (MTN), Harrini (COF) and Modolo (BAR) latch on to the dominating Belkin train.
It looks like it's between 3 trains now! But disaster for Belkin who have ridden too close to the side; Leezer has nowhere to go.
And the race is over for Belkin! As well as for the collection of riders who latched on to their train. Bos goes early in persuit of something special, while Coquard has a lot of work to do. Meanwhile Bennati and Calzone are boxed in.
300m to go and it's a great effort from Coquard who only just passes his leadout man Chavanel. The Italians are only just leaving their wheels though.
It's going to be really close as Coquard leads into the final metres. Modolo is right beside him while Bennati & Calzone still fight for the spoils.
And the Frenchman just wins! It's Italians from 2-4 while the leadout men take the next few places.
Bos is a disappointing 7th while Guido is 9th.
Harrini finishes just ahead of Morkov for 13th.
And you can see just how stretched out the peloton was. A very fast sprint indeed.

Shame that the Belkin train got blocked, Mario would have come up higher otherwise. Decent start nevertheless

Calzone in 3rd with the best sprint result of the season for Androni and in his first race (I believe) he almost achieved the win goal. Gavazzi also taking 8th and Felline in 11th.
In terms of custom riders, in his first ever race Erik Boushe took 12th and helped lead out Midolo. And Kim Tan lead Rusvelo to 36th which is his best result so far.

Great effort from Walker here. He was once already successful out of 2-man break and things looked good this time around again. Peloton was just a bit too strong. It's good to know that NetApp attacks right from the start.
Calzone kicking off his season very nicely with a 3rd place there

There's only one Dermot Walker! Three stage races, three breakaways on the first stage.
And looking at the level of talent here, that's going to be his, and NetApp's, best chance of winning I feel.
Good to see Josh staying out of trouble too. Or maybe he was leading out Van Rensburg .

A close sprint there, I doubt we will see one guy winning all the sprints here, which gives hope to the million people with a goal at this race. |
