Hamilton too. He did everything to be seen as an ambassador against doping and then tested positive and still came up with 3 or 4 different excuses for it, which were some of the most ridiculous excuses ever.
I meant that signing Hamilton was wrong but Landis won the most prestigious race on earth with drugs, and wrote a book about how he's innocent.
And of course since I live in Eastern Pennsylvania, it was on the local news, and the reporters have no clue what they're talking about, and my non-cycling friends were appalled at me because that fact that a I participated in such a sport. |

which is one of the reasons I tend to absorb as much information as possible on doping. When they start with the bullshit, there's nothing quite like scientific facts to destroy their idea that their favorite sports are clean and shut them up.

The one telling them that their favorite sport (around here mostly American Football or Baseball) has as much drug use as any other sport, but the reason more cyclists get caught is because of the random dug testing, whereas Baseball and American Football have scheduled tests, allowing athletes to use steroids as long as its out of their system by the time the test comes around. |

Now that a british rider finally wins something decent the brits are silent. It makes no sense. Steven Cummings wins the Coppa Bernocchi, the last part of the Trittico Lombardo, after the controlling teams let the break go. Leonardo Bertagnolli wins the Trittico, but that's little consolation after not willing the Coppa Agostoni and especially not winning the Tre Valli Varesine.

Plus, cycling uses tests for more kinds of dope (now testing for CERA for example)

Landis didn't cheat.

Not to mention how little the Baseball and Football players get tested, and the penalties. For instance, the Baltimore Orioles 2B Brian Roberts admitted to using steroids, his punishment, a 15 game suspension (out of a 162 game season) and that later gets commuted, so he gets no punishment. |

in the 90s nobody ever got caught or suspended. before the 90s, a positive test meant that you'd be disqualifed from the stage and (if it were a stage race) would have 10 minutes added to your overall time......

Américo Silva is insane. He's attacked with 6 different riders one at a time. They're all on the front now. Only the leader and a water boy are there.
If the leader gets across in a few kms without bringing along the yellow jersey, it'll be a genious move.

Now it's all back together and they're all attacking like crazy. And this was supposed to be the transition stage where they'd take it easy before the 2 tough stages of the weekend...
insane.

A little Edvald update from The Eneco Tour, He was 6th in the first sprint stage and today he rode a great lead out for the winner of today's stage Andre Greipel. Edvald also took 3 bonusseconds early in the stage and is now 2nd in GC with the same time as Gutierrez. |

Greipel!
If Gutierrez is in form as he seems, he's a huge candidate for this race.

There are other facts that I don't feel like getting right now, but, why would someone put themselves in such a bad financial state, to try to prove their innocence? He's broke right now, and I really don't see why he would do something like that if we guilty...
