THE RACE

William Dugan is the first Team Type 1 rider to complete the course and he manages it in a time of 38m 46s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC1-DUGAN_zps9f811834.jpg

Santos of LA Antarte betters him by 50s but both riders will finish the day near the back of the final results

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC2-SANTOS_zpsdf76b161.jpg

The first good time is achieved by Bevin of Bissell Cycling who comes in with 36m 26s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC9-BEVIN_zps6e0b682e.jpg

He is followed in by Creed of Team Optum who manages to beat him by a single second

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC5-CREED_zps0f6899b1.jpg

Quaade of Blue Water Cycling is again better and sets a new fastest time of 35m 55s

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC4-QUAADE_zps84d64279.jpg

Many more riders finish but don't challenge the time
Atkins of Bontrager Livestrong is one of them

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC7-ATKINS_zpscf3a09cc.jpg

Hernandez of Jelly Belly Cycling is another

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC8-HERNANDEZ_zpseafe0b43.jpg

As is our very own Joey Rosskopf

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC6-ROSSKOPF_zps9c75fabf.jpg

Dombrowski misses out as well when he was expected to do well

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC11-DOMBROWSKI_zps167af696.jpg

Mancebo oc Competitive Cycling was leading until the final couple of kilometres and then fell away

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC14-MANCEBO_zps824a1a22.jpg

Ben Jacques Maynes finally beats the time with 35m 45s with only a handful of riders left to go

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC12-JACQUESMAYNES_zps50d2e88e.jpg

All the riders were on the course except for me and i am now on the ramp trying to gather my thoughts before i get the signal to go

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC17-SUTTON_zps8fdf1497.jpg

I am soon in to my stride as i try to defend my race lead

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC18-SUTTON_zps165b0b10.jpg

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC16-MULLER_zps72ab41c7.jpg

Rory Sutherland finishes very strongly

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC15-SUTHERLAND_zpsefac2cf5.jpg

So does Haga of Team Optum

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC3-HAGA_zps218cfd5f.jpg

And Ribeiro of Efapel Glassdrive

i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc489/sutty68/032-TOUR%20OF%20THE%20GILA/032-3-PIC13-RIBEIRO_zps22ca63dd.jpg

Winners never quit, quitters never win.

It's difficult not to be happy when you're surrounded by Belgians. - Mark Cavendish

sutty68
PCM rulezz - Nice to see you back mate Smile

The Rider
This form for Gary Sutton is amaazing, destroying the field which contains potentially stronger riders.

The only problem is I doubt we will see Gary tested against the GC and Classic winners this season, which is a shame..............

I have to admit that i am in total shock after what happened today out on the road, we never expected to blow up like we did and lose everything, it was a bitter pill to swallow, the guys are sitting in the Team coach totally in total despair at the fact that everything we worked hard for this week has gone in a blink of an eye, This will take some time to get over
