Tirreno - Adriatico :: Stage 2

The second day. Everyone will look at Cavendish, Boonen, Greipel and Kittel now.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/tirreno201_zps992d8df2.jpg

Let's just hope Kittel survives the hills!

Willy Wouters

The day goes by easily for me. I help Kittel survive the mountains and get in line with the sprinters to avoid time loss.

Stijn Van Gent

Most of the team dropped out of the peloton, unfortunately, so there was just me to lead out Kittel.

I definitely didn't have my Strade Bianchi legs today, but I did a fairly good job, I think.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/tirreno204_zps55929d43.jpg

Bennati thought he had made his first of the season, but trying to celebrate, he gets beaten on the line by Mark Cavendish. Kittel is a strong fourth.

I think I'm in good shape for Milan and the cobbled classics. But Kittel still needs some extra shape, soon, because San Remo is looming. If he wants to survive those hills, he'll need to be in perfect shape!

Stupid mistake from Bennati Pfft
I hope Kittel finds some extra form soon Frown
Winners never quit, quitters never win.

It's difficult not to be happy when you're surrounded by Belgians. - Mark Cavendish

sutty68
You did a great job for Kittel today Wink

Jakstar22
A good 4th place

Ian Butler
PCM rulezz - Never cheer if Cavendish is near Pfft

sutty68 - Thanks, Stijn did all he could! Smile

Jakstar22 - Thanks!

I had just started racing stage 3 when someone occupied the computer, so it'll be for tomorrow, probably, sorry Wink

rogvi97

Started well in Italy. Smile

Shame about the computer being occupied Frown

Ah well i will look forward to the next instalment tomorrow then Wink

Ian Butler
rogvi97 - Thanks a lot Wink

FreitasPCM - Thanks, it won't be easy, though. There isn't a single mountain race, only hilly races, and Willy's MO stat is much higher than his HILL stat, so he'll have to count on his great shape and the final 15 km TT Smile

sutty68 - Well, I spend quite some time on the computer (both for PCM and school), so if someone else here wants an exceptional turn, I can't find it in my heart to turn them down Pfft

Like I said, next stage probably today, preferably tonight, since my new ps3 game just arrived, going to break it in right now Pfft

Daggen
Come on goat. You can do better

sutty68
Why goat Frown

Ollfardh
not goat, it's zombie Wink
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Ian Butler
Speaking of Zombies, the Red Dead Redemption GOTY Edition really got me going, so I'm afraid I'll have to postpone the next stage to tomorrow Grin

Tirreno - Adriatico :: Stage 3

A tough finish where we'll definitely see some GC changes. Let's hope it's in the right direction for Willy.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/tirreno301_zps1960c0a2.jpg

Looking at Willy's form and position, both Seeldraeyers and Kruijswijk didn't object to working for him in this Tirreno.

Stijn Van Gent

I must say I'd forgotten how hard races in the World Tour are. The pace is constantly high and the hills are just painful for us sprinters and classics riders.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/tirreno302_zps55485822.jpg

Today was for Willy, not for me!

Willy Wouters

I felt pretty good, and I thought it might be wise to use that form to put some pressure on other riders. Seeldraeyers did some great work for me.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/tirreno303_zpse6b31e60.jpg

The peloton was reduced quickly.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/tirreno304_zps776a3217.jpg

Andy Schleck and Valverde were extremely strong and were able to escape. I organized the hunt myself.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/tirreno305_zpsfc3bf312.jpg

I developed a strong, fast pace, thanks to the consistent slope. Sprinting I even got closer to the two leaders, but when Valverde started his sprint, I knew I was going for third place.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/tirreno306_zpsb3cfaf4d.jpg

Though in the end it was Schleck who used the slipstream to take the win!

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/tirreno307_zps7c1f8e4f.jpg

This is a great result for me! I'm not on the podium. However, I'm a realist, so I still have the top 10 as my goal here. Anything better would just be amazing.
