I must say that Rodriguez has a great chance of winning the PT-rankings. If i recall right, he's isn't to far behind Contador.

He had a different preparation this year. Just the fact that he doesn't care about the Worlds (because it doesn't suit him) changes a lot.

On a long MTF Anton will ride away solo.
Anyway, like I said all along F.Schleck won't win. And now Menchov failed the first serious test we can write him off as well.
Anton, Rodriguez or Nibali -> vuelta winner 2010 |

Agreed and how great is it to see three guys like these fight it out for GT Win. Young guys who have come a long way to be in the positions they're in right now. Also because we don't really now a whole lot about these three guys stamina over three weeks when fighting for the Top Spot.
This is turning out to be a great race, just as expected.

Rodriguez isn't exactly young with his 31 years.

By later insight, don't count out Mosquera just yet.
He had a bad day on Xorret de Cati last year as well, seems the climb just doesn't suit him for whatever reason.
And he is still not that far back |

Also, he didn't have his team completely screwing up his preparations like last year.
Last year he was told: "Yeah, you can be the Giro and Vuelta leader.....but you have to be in top form from the Tirreno in March to the end of the Giro". it's impossible to hold form that long, and predictably that caused him to blow up at the Giro.
After that he prepared for the Vuelta....and at the last moment he was told he had to work for Valverde.
At that point he stopped caring. Wouldn't everyone? Predictably he moved teams.

Nibali is going to win this year because he's better in the time trial and won't have any problem keeping up with Rodriguez on the mountains...and for Anton, don't think he's ready for a 3 week GT fight yet.. |

Today is maybe the last victory in Moncoutie's carrier. Good job David. But Nibali is a phenomenon |

Im taking Nibali very seriously.
And your 2nd sentense very explains why i think that Anton will win.
Because i dont feel that Nibali is a pure climber and Purito is very questionable for me because of one reason: Spoiler how he will ride when climb is longer and not so steep? He probably is king on steep climbs. But in the second half of the race there is pretty much not very steep and pretty long climbs...

The thing with Nibali is, he hangs with the best until he explodes completely. On shorter climbs he can hang on a bit better, and he usually attacks when a climb gets flat (like today at the top), or when the downhill starts (Giro).
Is the climb longer than 10km and the pure climbers keep making pace (not only Contador/Schleck, but also Basso, Gesink, etc) then Nibali usually blows at a certain point and quickly loses much time in a matter of a few km...
So, that's where Anton and Rodriguez have to gain the majority of time, in the 3 longer MT finishes. |

Do you really consider Rodriguez as a longer MT specialist? |

Plenty of time for him to run away back down them again - as usual
