But you could be an Aston Villa fan because of Martin Laursen, or an Arsenal fan because of Helveg, or a Milan fan because of Tomasson

Helveg? Arsenal? I dont' see the connection.
Besides, those players weren't good when I started watching football. |

Man City are definatley going for it this seasonB)
Thaksin Shinawatra will give Sven Goran Eriksson money to spend in January after Adriano claimed Manchester City are his 'first choice'.
City boss Eriksson is looking to sign a striker in the New Year and has most recently been linked with a bid for Tottenham Hotspur's Dimitar Berbatov.
Though owner Shinawatra did not divulge the club's targets, he confirmed he will provide Eriksson with funds to add to his squad when the transfer window reopens.
"We will invest in the team in the January window if we see the right player at the right price," Shinawatra told the News of the World.
"I know that Sven has some ideas and I will continue to give him the support he needs."
Internazionale misfit Adriano is rumoured to be among City's targets, with the Brazilian hoping to leave the Serie A champions in January.
Adriano also suggested he could move to the Premier League in exchange for Rolando Bianchi, who has struggled at City since his big-money move from Reggina in the summer.
"I have spoken to the club and I am moving on in January," Adriano is quoted in the News of the World.
"My first choice is Manchester City and Eriksson, and I know Inter like Bianchi."
Adriano may not be in the best form, but he is still a very good player and for him to even be slightly interested in a move to City, shows how much they have progressed after Pearce leaving
Berbatov would be great, but no-one has a clue about where he is going or if he's staying at Spurs. His dad and brother say he is unhappy and wants to move to Man Utd, his mum says he's happy and wants to stay till the end of his contract at Spurs. Then Berbatov told them to butt-out and isn't saying a thing

well, Adriano has huge off the field problems and no big team will touch him, so Man City are the best he can possibly get. especially since he's Inter's fifth choice striker.
I'm actually appalled that anyone wants him. it's rare that a player falls into the addiction that Adriano has, but every single previous case shows that he'll never recover. look at Jardel...champions league top scorer year in year out, dominating the portuguese and turkish leagues....when it happened to him, he went from over a goal a game to about a goal a season. a year later he moved to Bolton. but that didn't help, as his play was just as sucky. god knows where he is now.
I'd love it if Adriano did it, but it's an insanely long shot.
well see come january.

sometimes Quaresma gets on my nerves because he tries to dribble instead of pass far too much, or as we call it here, "juggling".
this time, he's going a bit too far. a few minutes ago he was Literally juggling the ball up in the air in front of the defenders. just play football dammit.

Referee 2-2 Porto
Reporter: "Ricardo, things are now more complicated"
Quaresma: "we'll be champions"
Reporter: "there's still a long way to go"
Quaresma: "but we'll be champions"
Sporting manager Paulo Bento today:
"we had to go against the referee. that's normal for any team that isn't named Benfica. the same will happen later to Porto, since they're also not named Benfica."
guess he was right.
then again, it's not like he was announcing the discovery of gunpowder

Italian football faces suspension
Italy's sports minister has called on the Italian Football Federation to suspend the league championship after the latest outbreak of fan violence.
Across the country, games were halted and police were attacked after a Lazio fan was shot by a policeman on Sunday.
"I've asked if there is the possibility of a strong gesture, in particular suspending the championships for a few weeks," said Giovanna Melandri.
A definitive decision is expected following further talks on Tuesday.

Just a general question:
Can Kasper Schmeichel play for England, seen as though he hasn't played for the full Danish side?
He has played for the U21's and below, but not the full side, i know it's a long shot, but he may want to be the England keeper

he can play if at the time of his first u-21 cap he already held english nationality. he can't. he also spent quite a few years over here and he doesn't hold nationality here either.
