I kinda hope König dont go to Orica, they seem like a team loaded with great talent already with the Yates, Chavez, Matthews, Cort and Ewan. Maybe neither of them are ready to contribute in the Tour next year GC-wise, König would be able to that, but dno. Any insiders on him, because he surely wants to go to a WT team? |

Betancur is not leaving AG2R, he continues with them till 2016. There were some problems with him and the team, because he didn't like to be in Europe for long periods |

I really don't get what Lavenu is doing here. I mean, does he really think that Betancur and the team will get along again? Or does he really pay his (I assume) big-ass wage for being second to last in Vuelta?
EDIT: Is it possible that this is just tactics by AG2R so another team would pay them transfer money to buy Betancur out of his contract? I mean in other sports its pretty common, just not in cycling. Is that imaginable or has there ever been such thing?

I can only think of when Cancellara left Saxo for Leopard.
I doubt that is the strategy, but perhaps they are happy if he can make a couple of good results in early season?

Isn't that exactly what happened with Dennis transfer from Garmin to BMC couple weeks ago or am I mistaken?

As far as I know, it's not. At least I haven't heard of any money that has been paid, but just that they Dennis go - for nothing.

Pretty sure Dennis was just a case of Vaughters not wanting to really use a rider who already have his heart somewhere else. I haven't hard about any "transfer sum" either.

As Rolf Sørensen said (commentator on TV2), the cause about Betancur can only be better. It didn't seem like he and Lavenu could get along at all, so it definitely surprises me, but I think its a good move as we all know how talented he is. And he is, most importantly, only 24 years old.
Dennis Ritter (the other commentator) talked about Ag2R maybe wanting his family to move to Europe to prevent Betancur from staying away. That could be a be an interesting solution. |

Any news on Dombrowski?
isn't he official suspended and not only by his team?
No, not at all.
Tiernan-Locke is suspended...
Farrar finished ahead of a very weak out-of-form Cavendish! He worked as a leadout one week ago and got his first leader status yesterday, but I hope Farrar, Goss and EBH can turn things around in MTN. (IF all are going there)
Cav's just won two stages, so he couldn't have been on that bad form.
And why would Farrar be on any better form?
Vattenfall wasn't Farrar's first race, since he had an injury, unlike Cav, that was his first race since the injury from the Tour

Actually he raced Tour de l'ain to build up form before. However I agree that he was not on top form, but rather on building up to the top.

There isn't really much in the way of transfer fees in cycling, as almost everyone honours their contracts. The closest we get to transfer fees are when a team buy a rider out of their contract, as happened with Cavendish at one point. Wiggins and Swift were bought out like this as well. I suppose that is pretty much the same thing come to think of it. The Dennis thing was a rare usage of the one or two week mid-season transfer period which almost no one seems to be aware of (I didn't know about it until this year).

MTN is building a very nice sprints train and they will have a lot of young talents, too, dunno if already mentioned, they are dealing with Goss & Farrar.

They seem to be a decent allround team next year if their young climbers can improve, definetely an interesting team. |
