Yeah big deal for us over here in the US and all, but I really hate Rock Racing, the fact that a team put together so quickly and with such little knowledge of the sport, with its "Bad Boy" image pisses me off. OK if there good and all but really they're so commercialized it kinda takes away from that little bit of my life that was keeping me from becoming a stereotypical American.
I much more enjoy watching sensible European racing, and races that have a serious impact on the sport. |

I like Rock racing because they bring something interesting to the sport instead of the same old same old. I've also been around their riders enough to know that the bad boy image is dropped as soon as the camera's go away. they really are great guys.
As to Michael Ball's antics I think it is a great thing for cycling. Ball stands up for his riders and holds people acountable. Hamilton served his ban, Ball gives him a second chance, AEG keeps Hamilton out of California, Ball stands up for his rider. Maybe Ball didn't win but he still stood by Hamilton. It is refreshing to see someone like that.
Especially someone willing to throw money all over the place, sponsoring bike races, juniors teams and all the charities that benefit from Ball's generosity.
How is Rock racing a bad thing?

I don't really know how cycling is related to doping in the USA, but such a team in Europe would damage cycling credibility a lot. Sevilla, Hamilton, Botero, then Landis (next season), two of them were caught and served their bans, but three of them were in Operacion Puerto and got away with it (ok it's the Spanish authorities fault if they were sanctionned), still they're not really guys that I want to see in pelotons, they harmed cycling enough already. |

mountain stage today. it ends sunday.
today's stage is a mountain stage that ends on a small climb where everyone and his mother will be out to attack Blanco. Tomorrow, transitional stage, saturday big mountain stage and sunday the final half-flat half-mountain final TT

it was a good stage. Except for some reason they put the riders on a motorway (hate it when they do that) to go under a tunnel.
Oh and i saw ruben, the guy with the huge bowtie at the finish with the harry potter style glasses. I wonder if his bow-tie goes round in a circle.
(any one who watched the podiums will know what i mean!)

Ah I forgot bout' you an the boys.
But I do feel that how you portray yourself on camera does mean something about your lifestyle, if Ball want's people to see him and the team as (I'll say it again) "Bad boys", and "Here to Stay" "Manly skull and crossbones", its exactly that, what he WANTS the public's view of the team to be. And whether or not he's like that off camera, or whether or not he sponsors junior races, doesn't affect my opinion that cycling shouldn't be portrayed as Micheal Ball portrays his team. I'm sure that they're all great guys, but just that super-cool commercialized view of a cycling team makes my skin crawl.
I didn't mean Ball was a jerk, and it's cool he stands up for his riders, but I guess I'm kinda not ready for a team like Rock Racing, and when a good percentage of US cycling fans are, it seems like MY view of a perfect cycling world is being destroyed. |

My problem is with the second chance thing. In my perfect world, once you've been caught, i don't want you comming back. tear up the license and bye bye.
Thats my problem with rock racing. My 2nd problem is they've said Landis has a position of a rider there next year. Now that's a crap decision. Don't expect him wanted at european races.

Are you kidding about Landis?
That's seriously wrong, OK MAYBE Hamilton but Landis (Despite the fact that his hometown is less than an hour away from my house) took a shit on the sport of cycling and should be banned from any place that even has a bike rack. |

and too right, like he said he basically completly disrespected the sport and doesn't deserve a team.
Personally people may say 'Well europe does want rock racing, they're in the tour of britain' and i must tell you all now. It's not a popular desicion by the tour of britian

I wish they weren't in the Tour of Britain . I really dislike this team because they are damaging the sport. I don't understand why they feel the need to sign these dopers. |

Hamilton too. He did everything to be seen as an ambassador against doping and then tested positive and still came up with 3 or 4 different excuses for it, which were some of the most ridiculous excuses ever.

Landis didn't dope

Now that a british rider finally wins something decent the brits are silent. It makes no sense. Steven Cummings wins the Coppa Bernocchi, the last part of the Trittico Lombardo, after the controlling teams let the break go. Leonardo Bertagnolli wins the Trittico, but that's little consolation after not willing the Coppa Agostoni and especially not winning the Tre Valli Varesine.
In Germany, the Regio Tour's 2 stages have been won by Manuel Vázquez (great season he's having) and Dominik Klemme.
Tour of Portugal stage, climber Nuno Ribeiro won and the status quo was nearly preserved by the GC riders.
