What a great stage! Brave move by Andy. I actually found myself cheering for him which was a bit rare. And Voeckler! The guy just knows how to fight. His finish reminded me of when he kept yellow back in 04. Great moment for cycling.
In a completely unrelated event to the Tour de France, I am feeling a bit sick *sniffs* for work tomorrow. I might go ahead and call in and just have to miss a day. |

After today he's barely a threat. He would be if he gained time which he didn't. He now has one stage to gain about 3 minutes. Not happening.
He maybe needs only half of that time to beat Evans and Voeckler. We will see tomorrow. If he won't have bad day, he can gain that time on Evans, if the race situation allow him to ride for himself.
I don't expect an attack before the final climb tomorrow. The only one who could try is S. Sanchez but I don't know if he still has the motivation after todays stage. Fränk and Andy for sure won't attack before the final climb.
Those who fancy themselves for the KOM will probably attack early, Sanchez may decide to try for that, the only question is would the Schlecks and Evans let him? |

That yellow jersey needs to be on WADAs list of performance enhancing drugs. First Hushovd keeping longer than most people expecting, and now Voeckler who have just been awesome this last week. |

Oh Ruben for every comment you write thousands of angels die !
I didn't expect a comment from you after this f*****g great performance from both Schlecks.
Agreed. I guess Ruben is just a bit of frustrated that Gesink doesn't do very well this year.
Good ride of him today, though. a several kilometeres in front, and that's it. Poor Rabobank and poor Gesink.
.. and a fabolous ride today. From both the Schlecks - you can't argue that |

Interestingly Breukink said the other day that Gesink's performance has nothing to do with injuries, it's all bad form.
Then again Breukink's hardly smart so who knows.

Read it again. Serious contender for the overall classification? "Possible podium contender" isn't "serious contender for the overall classification"?
No. In 2009 Wiggins looked like a possible podium contender but he was never gonna win that.

Sorry, but you really can't compare Wiggins and Frank Schleck in Grand Tours.

I dont see why a contender for the podium, should also be a contender for the overall victory. S. Sanchez is also a podium contender (well not anymore, but at the start of the tour), but I dont believe anyone ever saw him as a contender for the victory. |

great performance from both Schlecks
Wait, what? What Andy did was quite amazing indeed. But how the hell is what Frank did great performance? He just sit there at the back of the group for the entire climb and followed the others until the last slopes and then attacked a tired Cadel Evans and got a few seconds.

Tacticly speaking this stage was infact great for both of them. Even though what Andy did was nothing more than incredible, that should not overshadow what Frank did. He was still sitting there when riders like Sanchez and Contador had to drop back. I know that Contador did try to attack a bit, but still.
Just because Frank didn't attack doesn't mean that any grandma with a bike could do the same. |

I suppose Frank did what he had to do. It was not brilliant just selfless. It was good tactics from Leopard. Everyone else was tactically inept. Was silly to allow a GC contender that much time going into the last climb. I am no Schleck fan but he rode well and Leopard showed everyone up.

Breukink hasn't said that anywhere. I follow all dutch news.
Whatever mistranslation has been used somehwere else is not my point.
Gesink said in an interview this morning that last night was the first night he didn't wake up from pain in his ribs and his back.
It was also the first day yesterday that they could massage his back. Before that the back was too sensitive and they simply left it at that.
Says enough about his back pain I reckon.
But it's simple to piss on riders who are injured and down. Which it was this no-brain person "Riis123" is doing.
Ofcourse, when you have no brain it's hard to think.
Gesink didn't perform this year??? What races have you watched? He was 2nd in the Tirreno, 3rd in Basque Country and 1st in Oman. Also 2nd and 3rd in the mountains in the Dauphine. He was in fine build up to the Tour and then hit the deck at 70 km/h
I want to see Riis123 post on this forum after he falls out of his car at 70 km/h
What a blithering idiot
Every year again on these forums, a new can of idiots opens at the Tour de France. |
