I really hope Evans can take some time on Vino today. And would been cool with some attacks from Sastre.

Doping discussion apart, this was an epic stage!
This Giro has been awesome so far and we're still in the begining of it. Some of the stages have been more entertaining than some of the major classics we've seen this season.
Can't wait for the high mountain

I don`t think Sastre is in a good form at this Giro. I am not really sure if we see him today very often. I am looking forward to Cunego or maybe Simoni. For Simoni it`s the same as Sastre but he have to show him because that`s why he started a last time this year and everything else would be disappointing for himself.

What a stage yesterdays was, had to watch replay as so much happened when I watched it live that I really could not tell exactly what went on.
Vino looks strong I cannot really see him exploding in mountain stages but I guess if we look at last years Vuelta and even in the recent Giro del Trentino there are possibilities of mountains problems.
Evans looks in excellent form however his team look incredably weak. He will not necessirily want to take the lead today, but when you see a chance you have to take it I guess.
Scarponi rode like a man possessed in the final yesterday he must feel as if he can do someting. Liquigas need to sort their house out once more, is Basso going to be their best man or do they turn to Nibali NOW is the time to decide.
Sean Yates on the sky website is interested in team tactics today, I think Astana will try and control. No Tiralongo will put a lot of pressure on riders like Grivko and Jufre. I guess Lampre/Liquigas may do their normal ride for Basso/Cunego and watch while others liek Evans and Vino take advantage.
Perhaps a breakaway could get a huge lead bearing in mind everyone will be shattered... leaving an oppurtunity for someone like a Serpa to take back a lot of time. |

I say Nibali has to be team leader. It's quite obvious he is much stronger than Basso. Yesterday he constantly had to wait for Basso and still didn't lose too much time (he's only one and a half minute behind Vino, that's good enough). |

Considering how hard Basso fell, I'd say it's to be expected that Basso was in trouble. And that he'll be in trouble today.
The question is who will be strongest in the last week. And it's far more likely it'll be Basso.

I have mixed feelings about that stage. It was great entertainment - though if you want that classics style racing in a GT and you expect the riders not to dope in order to survive the 3 weeks, then you're kidding yourself.
Basso certainly suffered - and I'm not surprised with the big gear he looked to be pushing.
Still, all credit to Di Luca - that was a very good win and he looked to have unlimited energy reserves. Only one that might have beat him was Scarponi. |

Sorry to say that, but I prefer having entertainment during mountain stages instead of enjoying crashes and mud in a Grand Tour.
I mean, GT is about mountains and TTs, isn't it ? I personnally think it's not about the guy who's the luckiest, and who's able to avoid every crash (f**ck Vino )

And Sastre ?
I know he seems in pretty bad form, but why not ? The road is still very long to Verona

He's 7 minutes behind. No chance.

That's right, I didn't check the GC, I thought he was about 4-5 minutes down.
Too bad
PS: that makes 1000

Petacchi and A.Masciarelly Abandon.
Petacchi had big problems to sty in the peloton on the first "hill".
Maybe they should made the 21st stage a flat stage in Rome or Milano again, then it would be more interesting for sprinter to survive to last mountain week. Otherwise there are almost no chances in the last week for sprinter. |
