Stage 20
Today’s time trial is mostly uphill and after a week of climbing, it will take a true warrior to endure this 13km uphill time trial. Dekker was one of the favorites coming in, but he was too tired from the past few days of racing, and had to settle for 10th. He did a lot of work to help me in the race so I can’t blame him for being tired.
In 5th place was Fuglsang, who held on to 3rd place overall. If you didn’t know his name before the race you should know it now. He spent the first half of the race working for Schleck but when Schleck cracked, Fuglsang was there to carry the torch for Saxobank.
In 4th place only 1 second faster than Fuglsang and only 2 seconds behind 3rd place was Posthuma who put on another great time trial performance for Rabobank.
In 3rd place was Gesink, who will probably be disappointed by his performance in the Giro. He was one of the pre-race favorites and only finished 7th in the GC.
I was feeling great today and from the moment I left the start gate, I knew I had a chance to win it.
As I approached the finish line I realized I had beaten Gesink by 12 seconds and it looked like I would take my first Giro stage win. But of course, not 2 minutes had gone by when Nibali came in and shattered my times. He beat me by 32 seconds in a time trial that was only 13km long.
This stage pretty much sums up how the Giro has been for me so far. I’ve been 2nd best since day one.

Stage 21
After 3 longs weeks of racing, today is the final day. I guess even the photographers decided to take the day off since there were no pictures of the final stage. Nibali had a celebratory drink after clearly winning this race. I give him a round of applauds because I gave it everything I had and couldn’t get close to him. He definitely deserved the win. At the finish, most of the sprinters were worn out from the past week of racing so some of the sprinters were unable to contend. On the final stage it was a 1-2-3 for Italy as Rigotto beat out Petacchi and Marinangeli. All I can say is thank god it’s over, time for a nap.

Since my next goal is the Vuelta, I will be taking a long break before returning at the Volta a Portugal. it will be nice to sit back and watch cycling for a little bit, although I won't have much time to sit around because I need to stay on form.

Bayern-Rundfahrt: With a strong team, we managed 1st and 4th in the Final GC along with a couple stage wins. Also Sammy Close had his best performance yet, finishing 11th overall. We also came away with the best Overall Team.
Wiggins-1st GC, 1st Points
Pate-4th GC
Hesjedal-9th GC
Close-11th GC, 1st U25
Dauphine de Libere: We did not get any stage wins but Vandevelde was consistent enough to finish 3rd overall behind, Gesink and A. Schleck. Gesink must be happy with the win after a disappointing Giro.
Ster Elektrotoer:
Sutton led GC thanks to a strong time trial in stage one and a victory in stage 4. Van Der Velde finished 6th, Bellis finished 8th, and Hita finished 11th. Sutton also came away with the Points Jersey.
Halle-Ingooigem:In the one day northern classic, Van Der Velde finished 2nd behind Kreder. Sutton continued his strong month and finished in 10th place.
Garmin National Championships:
The surprise winner of the British National Champion race was Jonathan Bellis who after showing off his lead out ability in the Giro, took a stage win for himself, beating the likes of Cavendish among others.
I managed to retain my Jersey by beating out my teammate, Sammy Close, and also my cousin Roche. Looking forward to watching the Tour de France.

We have a large group of riders who will not be returning next year. A lot of them are veterans who really helped the team get on its feet. I'm gonna really miss all of these riders.
Charles Wegelius
Danny Pate
Christian Vandevelde
David Millar
Michael Friedman
Thomas Dekker
Chris Froome
Ryder Hesjedal
Bradley Wiggins
Dominique Rollin

You will need to work hard during the transfert season if you want to replace them!
