Okay, but I thought Conti said that they wouldn't sign him until the 2009 season. That's why I said 09. |

sure. the question is: when he comes back, will he be clean? almost all examples of past riders suggest no. and if that turns out to be the case, what does that say about Barloworld?
as for Basso signing with them rather than another team, it makes sense since they're an italian team and Basso is italian.

Watch out for the british in this forum
They really believe that Millar is clean now

Almost all, being pretty much all apart from Millar
And are Barloworld actually Italian? or British? or South African? Or a mix?

well, I really think he is. I also think he's a hypocrite, but that's beside the point. most times the riders go back to doping after being clean for the first year.
above all I'll be interested to see how he does (and I certainly won't be supporting him at all)

italian with a british license and a south african sponsor (which makes them sign a couple of south african riders and send their best riders to the Giro del Capo every year)

Millar is 100% clean and one of the few riders i can say that about.
I'm not saying that as he is British, but because it was the worst moment of his life, the 2 year ban, and he came back and is now fighting against doping and when he finds out someone does dope, it hurts him (as shown by him crying when someone got found)
Now you can all say that was very nationalistic, but you can refer to the start of my 2nd sentence

if he was a doper surely he would've gone to Astana, Disco or somewhere else
to be honest i don't know why he's there, i just know that he wouldn't dope ever again
and also i can't see any British rider doping, well Cavendish could swing that way, but i hope he doesn't

I think Saunier were the only ProTour team to offer Millar a deal originally, so he went there. Besides, he's now gone to Slipstream and their strict anti-doping regime.

honestly, I don't think any team other than Caisse dopes anyone other than it's leaders. Bruyneel definitely doesn't. the old Astana definitely didn't.
that said, excuse me if I don't fully trust anyone. and that includes Slipstream and Mr. Jonathan Vaughters, former Postal rider and assumed doper.

True, but at least hoping a doping scheme, whether trustable or not, is better than not having a doping scheme.

Yes. I mean, look at Astana. That's definitely going to be a clean team next year since they have now said they are going to copy CSC's anti doping program...
(No, seriously, I have a good feeling towards Slipstream. Hopefully, they'll manage to keep up their good work even though they now have to compete at top level) |

I'm not English, but I also think that Millar is clean. And I hope that Slipstream will be clean too. I'm sure about one thing: no Hungarian ProTour rider is doped

Because the stupid f*ckers at the Hungarian Cycling Federation don't want to sponsor him, he have to go the Olympics on his own money. Sometimes I want to kick the shit out of 'em.... And he is better in TTs than any current French. Sorry for being emotional. Anyway he'll be always a Hungarian

This is strange additude for Cycling Federation...but what I am talking about..cycling has europe sport nr. 2 is very bad situation estonia eather.. They prefer broadcast runner who cant finish the race..to Mandri who was amazing in Vuelta.
And then Cycling Federation complaining that cycling isnt popular enough..thank god we ahave some "freeks" left in Tartu and Jõgeva..who still produce great material. |
