unlike previously reported god knows where, Lhottelerie has not signed with Cérvelo (which makes sense. why the f*** would a new team kill it's reputation by signing a rider who publicly defends doping?).
He's signed for Vacansoleil You're accusing him without evidence, be ashamed.
He was in touch with Crédit Agricole and La Française des Jeux around Paris-Nice time, but they quickly stopped negociations. AG2R stopped later, whereas Bouygues never even bothered.
He was about to sign with Caisse d'Epargne but it seems Pereiro personnally refused him to be transferred.
Even though he had problems finding a new team, Skill-Shimano didn't want to keep him for his remaining contract year.
I blame all those racists idiots who refuse to sign the only valuable French talent for 10 years. [/sarcasm] |

Not much more than what's written above : it's said that when Caisse d'Epargne was about to sign him, it's Oscar Pereiro that talked to his staff and refused L'Hotellerie to be signed. |

It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to guess why, I suppose Pereiro talked either with L'Hotellerie, either with somebody knowing him well enough, and thought it was way too risky to have him on the team. |

Gustav Larsson will stay at CSC-Saxo Bank. They made a counter-offer and he accepted.

Finally some news about the H2O Telteck team.
Rubens Bertogliati, Sergio Pardilla, Patrice Halgand, Aurélien Passeron and Mikaël Szkolnik have officially signed with the team. Also, three neos from BC Vallauris, feeder team for (Scott -) American Beef, will join thet team.
Rumours say that Rebellin, Paolini and Filippo Simeoni are in negotiations with the team.
Edit: Also, does anyone know what's going on with American Beef? They lost Scott as title sponsor, and they haven't signed any riders at all this season. But they did lose quite a lot...

According to Cyclismag, Gustav Erik Larsson will stay with CSC despite being very, very close at a contract with Caisse. |

Out of Interest, how old is Hans Dekkers. I know he out sprinted a very Tired Tom Boonen at a race recently and i was wondering what his palmares and age etc are like. |

He's just under 30 I think, and he was predicted to be one of the best sprinters in world, due to good youth performances. But he hasn't been able to live up to thoose expectations.

Meh, Boonen isn't tired at all. He just decided to stop sprinting about 70m from the line and start yelling at a Topsport guy. That's why Dekkers won.
To be fair, Dekkers was never really much of a prospect. He won a few stages of the Tour de Normandie and Olympia's Tour at 24 years old, being much older than the guys he beat (who if you notice, are VERY SUCKY riders).....and that's it. As far as I'm aware, that's the whole basis for the hype. Very unjustified hype, I'd say.
He's not a guy like for instance Francesco Chicchi, who in terms of pure speed is probably the fastest pro rider but has horrible timing and positioning (although he's improved tenfold. at this rate he'll be the world's top sprinter in a year or two), but more that he doesn't quite seem to have the speed to be a great sprinter. |

He had his fair share of bad luck and injuries. Had nothing to do with living up to anything. It's hard to live up to something when you are injured half the time
Oh and Isso you forgot Dekkers getting 2nd in the world championships U23 in zolder, behind your precious Chicchi.
Although Dekkers got DSQ-ed (not justified)

MY precious Chicchi? Of course, everyone knows I'm Chicchi's biggest fan. I'm even president of his fan club
Also, Dekkers is 28.
And of course you say it wasn't justified. After all, all he did was cause an enormous pile-up of riders with a sudden sideways swerve to block another sprinter
It's annoying how biased you are. If Dekkers were belgian you wouldn't give this thread a second look.

He didn't cause it, another sprinter did, so Dekkers couldn't do anything but swerve. It's annoying how ignorant you are.

uh-huh. So now you've resorted to lying. That means you're out of arguments. Discussion over |
