26/6 Danmarksmesterskabet (road):
Herning – Herning : 198.9 km
Christina Reports: Last year our best was Martin Pedersen (16), but the route was quite different with cobbles sections. The management sees this championship as very important for us they expect a top 5 result.
Pre-race strategy: We will try staying in the peloton, helping if necessary bringing breaks back in.
We have Patrick Clausen and Morten Høberg for the sprint.
Profile:
Roster:
Patrick Clausen
Morten Høberg
Philip Nielsen
Anders Bjerregård
Simon Bigum
Mads Würtz Schmidt
Martin Pedersen
Lasse Bøchman
The morning breakaway is 6 riders. With only relative few teams and riders, we are forced to lead the peloton, most of the dangerous teams have someone in the break.
With the use of first Bøchman and Philip Nielsen, later also Würtz Schmidt we manages to bring the breakaway back, just in time for the sprint. Our setup is fine and we are in front when the sprint starts, but others are faster on the last km. The race was won by Matti Breschel (Saxo) over Alex Rasmussen (Garmin)
Our best was Patrick Clausen (4)
Christina: Good race, we got the top 5 we had hoped for.
Result:
1 | Matti Breschel | Team Saxo - Tinkoff | 4h13'44 | 2 | Alex Rasmussen | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 3 | Martin Mortensen | Team Cult Energy | s.t. | 4 | Patrick Clausen | Christina Watches - Onfone | s.t. | 5 | Daniel Foder | Blue Water Cycling | s.t. | 6 | Nikola Aistrup | Concordia Forsikring - Riwal | s.t. | 7 | Michael Mørkøv | Team Saxo - Tinkoff | s.t. | 8 | Mads Christensen | Team Saxo - Tinkoff | s.t. | 9 | Jakob Fuglsang | Team Nippo - De Rosa | s.t. | 10 | Morten Høberg | Christina Watches - Onfone | s.t. | 11 | Nicki Sørensen | Team Saxo - Tinkoff | s.t. | 12 | André Steensen | Team Cult Energy | s.t. | 13 | Brian Vandborg | Cannondale Pro Cycling | s.t. | 14 | Jonas Aaen Jørgensen | Team Saxo - Tinkoff | s.t. | 15 | Rasmus Sterobo | Team Cult Energy | s.t. | 16 | Sebastian Lander | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | 17 | Morten Kruse Brink | Blue Water Cycling | s.t. | 18 | Troels Ronning Vinther | Team Cult Energy | s.t. | 19 | Kristian Haugaard | Leopard - Trek Continental Team | s.t. | 20 | Philip Nielsen | Christina Watches - Onfone | s.t. |

26/6 Championnat de France (Road)
Saint Denis - Saint Denis: 196,6 km
Rasmussen reports: Elissonde came 5th from a breakaway last year. This year it is a very different profile, mountain climbs from start to finish, this is definitely terrain suited for him. On the downside Ellisonde is far from top form at the moment.
Strategy: Elissonde will stay with the favorites until the last clims, then he might attack if he is feeling ok.
Roster: We only got Elissonde in the race, could be a challenge to refill the water bottles.
Profile:
The morning break is 4 riders they build up a rather good distance, while the peloton seems to relax in the sun. It is 35 °C, weather for the beach, rather than mountain climbing.
Over the 3rd top the distance stabilize at about 7’30, the peloton have set up the pace and larger group begin to form behind the peloton. On the downhill, as Elissonde is on his way back to get water, he lose balance and hit the tarmac at high speed.
The situation at the point when Elissonde is back on his bike. 108 km to the finish.
Elissonde sits in this 3rd group on the descend and the short flat in the valley, and then without much trouble close the gap to the favorite group as soon at the climbs starts. The pace slowly builds up over the next few climbs, the favorite group thin out and the break gets closer. Even though he is not in top shape, Elissonde has a very good day, at the start of the last climb he makes his move.
There is no immediate reaction from the other favorite, Elissonde easily catch and leave behind the breakaway. Then another attack in the favorite group, Arnold Jeannesson, Maxime Bouet, Pierre Rolland and Romain Bardet. Only Jeannesson gets dangerously close, but he never makes it, Elissonde wins the French national championship.
Rasmussen: Fantastic ! our 2nd national Jersey win overall, congratulation to Arnold Jeannesson also rather surprising 2nd to him. I don’t think there was many bets on this 1-2 combo.
Result:
1 | Kenny Elissonde | Christina Watches - Onfone | 6h26'47 | 2 | Arnold Jeannesson | BigMat - Auber 93 | s.t. | 3 | Pierre Rolland | Team Europcar | + 30 | 4 | Romain Bardet | FDJ.fr | s.t. | 5 | Maxime Bouet | Jules | s.t. | 6 | Thibaut Pinot | FDJ.fr | + 3'44 | 7 | Yoann Bagot | FDJ.fr | s.t. | 8 | Alexis Vuillermoz | Bretagne - Séché Environnement | s.t. | 9 | John Gadret | Team Europcar | s.t. | 10 | Warren Barguil | Team Argos - Shimano | s.t. | 11 | Francis Mourey | Jules | + 5'55 | 12 | Rémy Di Gregorio | Jules | s.t. | 13 | Jérôme Coppel | Jules | s.t. | 14 | Tony Gallopin | RadioShack - Leopard | s.t. | 15 | Fabrice Jeandesboz | Bretagne - Séché Environnement | s.t. | 16 | Nicolas Edet | FDJ.fr | s.t. | 17 | Romain Sicard | Liberty Seguros - Würth | s.t. | 18 | Alexandre Geniez | FDJ.fr | s.t. | 19 | Dimitri Le Boulch | Team Europcar | s.t. | 20 | Hubert Dupont | BigMat - Auber 93 | s.t. |

26/6 Campeonato de España (Road)
Reus – Valls: 205.2 km
Rasmussen reports: Last year Pacheco won the Campeonato from a breakaway. This year the route does not seem to fit a sprinter, with hard climbs all day.
Pre-race strategy: Pacheco will stay in the peloton, hoping that he will be able to get over the last climb in good shape.
Profile:
The morning break of 4, consist only of riders, with little hope in a stage like this.
Pacheco gets over the hardest climb in the peloton, with only the break out in front, it is looking good so far.
On the last climb with just 10 km to the line, the favorites attacks and get away. It is Daniel Moreno, Gorka Izagirre, Ion Izagirre and Rubén Fernández. It is not an option for Pacheco to follow this attack from the specialists.
Over the top Moreno and Izagirre lay distance to the others, it is between them. Izagirre leads the duo down towards the finish, but it is Moreno who has the speed in the final sprint. Pacheco just make it within the top 10.
Rasmussen: Fine top 10, not a stage for a sprinter.
Result:
1 | Daniel Moreno | AG2R La Mondiale | 5h24'29 | 2 | Ion Izagirre | Liberty Seguros - Würth | s.t. | 3 | Gorka Izagirre | MTN - Qhubeka | + 34 | 4 | Rubén Fernández | Liberty Seguros - Würth | + 49 | 5 | JoaquÃm RodrÃguez | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 6 | Juan Antonio Flecha | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 7 | Esteban Plaza | Rádio Popular - Onda | s.t. | 8 | Pablo Urtasun | Caja Rural - Seguros RGA | + 1'20 | 9 | Xavier Florencio | Thüringer Energie Team | + 1'33 | 10 | Francisco José Pacheco | Christina Watches - Onfone | + 2'01 | 11 | Garikoitz Bravo | Liberty Seguros - Würth | s.t. | 12 | Igor Antón | Liberty Seguros - Würth | s.t. | 13 | Luis León Sánchez | Belkin Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 14 | José Herrada | Banco Santander | s.t. | 15 | Ricardo GarcÃa | Liberty Seguros - Würth | s.t. | 16 | Daniel Navarro | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 17 | Samuel Sánchez | Liberty Seguros - Würth | s.t. | 18 | Juan José Cobo | Banco Santander | s.t. | 19 | Alberto Losada | Banco Santander | s.t. | 20 | Sergio Pardilla | MTN - Qhubeka | s.t. |

26/6 Campionato di Italia (Road)
Malgolo – Cagno: 219.3 km
Rasmussen reports: Last year Aldegheri came 34th. This year we have got Davide Malacarne he should be able to do much better, especially in terrain like this.
Roster:
Angelo Furlan
Daniele Aldegheri
Davide Malacarne
Pre-race strategy: The team will stay in the peloton, helping and protecting Malacarne, until the explosion we expect in the last 30-20 km.
Profile:
The morning break is just 3 riders they get close to 7 min.
The peloton slowly reeles them back in, near the 20 km mark, only Daniele Bennati (Europcar) is left from the breakaway he has got a little more than a minute. Attacks from the better riders starts Marco Marcato (Vacansoleil), Simone Ponzi (Astana), Alessandro De Marchi (Bardiani) and others.
Then Moreno Moser (Vodafone) and Davide Malacarne slightly touch, they both fall to the ground.
All hope is out for a good result for us. Meanwhile Elia Favilli (Lampre) has left everyone behind, he races towards the line for a great solo victory. Our best was Daniele Aldegheri (75)
Rasmussen: Terrible news, I just hope Malacarne is fine he has got an important race in Austria in just a few days.
Result:1 | Elia Favilli | Lampre - Merida | 6h03'31 | 2 | Damiano Cunego | Cannondale Pro Cycling | + 59 | 3 | Daniel Oss | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | 4 | Sonny Colbrelli | Bardiani Valvole - CSF Inox | s.t. | 5 | Enrico Gasparotto | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 6 | Edoardo Zardini | Bardiani Valvole - CSF Inox | s.t. | 7 | Alessandro De Marchi | Bardiani Valvole - CSF Inox | s.t. | 8 | Francesco Bongiorno | Bardiani Valvole - CSF Inox | s.t. | 9 | Marco Marcato | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 10 | Dario Cataldo | RusVelo | s.t. | 11 | Francesco Gavazzi | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 12 | Alessandro Bisolti | Bardiani Valvole - CSF Inox | s.t. | 13 | Oscar Gatto | Lampre - Merida | s.t. | 14 | Daniele Ratto | IAM Cycling | s.t. | 15 | Luca Dodi | Lampre - Merida | s.t. | 16 | Simone Ponzi | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 17 | Giovanni Visconti | Bardiani Valvole - CSF Inox | s.t. | 18 | Vincenzo Nibali | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 19 | Matteo Montaguti | Androni Giocattoli - Venezuela | s.t. | 20 | Giampaolo Caruso | Katusha Team | s.t. |
