Monfort and Rogers will use the Dauphine as Tour preparation and Cavendish,Renshaw and Grabsch should ride in Switzerland. I really hope that we have a strong team for the Tour then

Well, after an amazing May for Columbia we have to go on with our season in June. This month should be the big preparation for the Tour de France. While Rogers, Monfort, Rabon and Bak will travel to France to ride the Dauphine Libere, Cavendish and his lead-out man Renshaw will go to Switzerland. In the beginning we will also a ride a small one-day classic which is pretty important for our sponsor, the Philadelphia International Championship. After that, we have to ride some National Championships.

So here´s our race calendar for June

Criterium du Dauphine Libere

The first big stage race in June is in France called the Criterium du Dauphine Libere. As I said our team-squad is using this tour for improving the form because the Tour de France is already waiting! Our team-captains should be Maxime Monfort and Michael Rogers. Monfort will also be our main leader at the Tour while Rogers will help him there because the Belgian might have more potential. The competition is quite interesting with riders like Leipheimer, Brajkovic, Kreuziger and a few more. Our goal there is not to win a stage or to win something else but just to improve Monfort´s and Rogers´shape!

Criterium du Dauphine Libere

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/1-94.jpg
The first stage will be a time trial about 12 kilometres. Favorites for the stage win should be Millar, Kreuziger, Leipheimer, Rabon, Rogers, Monfort and Brajkovic

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/2Rogers.jpg
Rogers was the first one by Columbia, setting a good time with 13 minutes and 19 seconds

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/3Millar.jpg
But his lead wasn´t for a long time because after him came David Millar, The Garmin rider was 3 seconds faster than Rogers

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/4Rabon.jpg
Next one was Rabon, who had a pretty good day there! His time was amazing, beating Millar´s ride by another 3 seconds

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/5Brajkovic.jpg
After Rabon came Rosseler from RadioShack with a great time, too but his team-mate Brajkovic was even faster than the Belgian. He is one second better than Rosseler

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/6Kreuziger.jpg
Kreuziger was a little disappointment today! He lost 16 seconds to the current leader Brajkovic

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/7Leipheimer.jpg
Levi Leipheimer was maybe the biggest favorite for today´s stage on the paper but if he is already in shape?
Yes he is! Great ride, great time by Leipheimer. He sets a new best-time with 12´59!

i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac288/FedExpress/8Monfort.jpg
Maxime Monfort´s shape isn´t that good at the moment and so his time is average! He lost pretty much to stage winner Leipheimer! 34 seconds are really a lot

Great performance by RadioShack. Shock

Pitty you lost time with Monfort for Levi and for other potential GC riders like Brajkovic and Kreuziger.

Well, it´s not so bad. As I said we´re not there for winning something but to improve some shapes

Philadelphia International Championship

This race is the only one-day classic in June for Columbia. Our sponsor told us to ride this race while it´s very important for them. Because of that we sent a strong team with Siutsou and Peter Velits. Siutsou should be our team-captain ´cause Velits´shape isn´t really well at the moment. Other favorite should be Van Hummel, Joly and Murn
