Stage 8
Santa Clarita -Pasadena
This is last stage..there is still anything possible. I am afraid and also exited...
Langeveld and Pfannberger opens the atack game..all favorite still waiting.
Garmin best rider Pate is down (GC 16th. rider)...and bad time it is. Peloton is moving real fast.
Team comes back to help him out..no use. Peloton is gone.
Astana controlling the race..speed is realy high.
Hincapie and Nuyens atack..Hincapie is serious threat. he is at the moment 5th. in the GC. Nuyens has been just amazing- agressive almost on every stage.
Then Joly..Armstrong, Knees, Nibali and Kreuziger..no need to wait anymore. There is over 30km. to go..this is gonna be fun.
Armstrong counter..he takes race lead..good to see man in yellow also at the front of the race.
Another 3 coming at behind Posthuma, Schleck and Chavanel. I didnt expect that final stage gonna be so fill of atack's. There is still lot to go.
Another atack..this time Chavanel. No chanche.
All group comes back together..hugh favorite group..Armstrong, Nibali, Joly, Nuyens, Kreuziger, Posthuma, Sevilla, Visconti, Karpets, Hincapie , Knees ,Schleck.
..and here we go again. Hincapie opens a game..he is first again.
..and then we just dont know anymore ..who is atacking against who..total madness. Lucky Rogers has just got into the group before that..at this moment Chavanel has taken stage lead (maybe also virtual tour lead.
Problems to Armstrong..he missed all that. Now he is with Schleck and Nuyens trying to get back...to late? Kreuziger same time at the front going max. to cach Chavanel alone..
he is almost there ..when Chavanel already sayed..come on..help me out there. Kreuziger is exausted..he need a effort break for a moment.
Sprint..Kreuziger opens the sprint from behind..he is going after long one.
Chavanel isnt giving up..great fighter. Stage win for Kreuziger,,second one already in California.
Second group...+36 sec .later. Posthuma is fastest there..Armstrong is not in that group..that mean's :Kreuziger has won Amstel tour ..hugh surprise.
Totaly exausted Nibali comes...over a minut after stage winner. But he must be happy..they managed to win California tour for Liquigas and Nibali also still inside top 6.
Here comes Armstong group..over 2min. down..did not expect that.
This is happy trip home..

Trofeo Laigueglia one day race. Liquigas butting all hopes for Fischer who is back in the race after he's crash...in Mallorca.
..and there is situation for Fiscer most of the days. Sitting behind Noe and waiting. So far looking good..last climb is dangerous..we have after all Sastre , Dessel, Siotsou and why not even Mandri. Who will try theyr chanches at the last climb.
Aerts is first atacker..we also see Sastre at the back who is trying to follow..This was just warm up.
then Garate..this is more serious. But Fuji - Servetto team wich has controlled the race all day..riding also that cap fast down.
Then Ten Dam, Aerts and Dessel...Dessel probably have back problems when he strech like this right after atack.
But no chanche here comes Fuji - Servetto again..all back has we started. That means ..downhill and sprint wil give us winner. Fischer has survived.
..and here he comes. So far plan is working out.
Pietropolli..atack. Hill atacks are ower..now flat atacks.
Then Aerts ..again. This is already third time when he launches one.
Then Serrano, Fredigo and Fischer. Liquigas make decision ..this is to open at the moment..we have to go and now!
Mori takes race lead..Fischer controlling..and then launches counter atack.
..after that we have 3 riders escaped. Serrano, Anza and Fischer. If this stays this way..it will be easy.
Fischer launches long sprint..he cant wait anymore. Other fellow atackers has started to come closer and closer.
He and Serrano has left..Fischer looks so shure about this one..he is not going to do "blind everything out mode"..dominant control.
This was easiest win of the season..and this guy likes to retire after this season.

First race to our cobble duo Quinziato and Enrico Franzoï. This is warm up for tomorrow Kuurne race. All favorites will be there..today Liquigas riders has named has race main favorites. For my side this will be open race..both raiders can make theyr own decisions. Most important thing is not do get injured...beacause weather report says: there will be rain condition and windy.
Bennati wanted also to go..I sayd no. This isnt a place to risk with injury.
Manuel Quinziato
Enrico Franzoï
Aleksandr Kuschynski
Frederik Willems
Brian Vandborg
Fabio Sabatini
Claudio Corioni
Kjell Carlström

Good to see Kreuziger win sprints...I wouldn't expect that although he won his world champion title in sprint. What is his sprint stat? |

and right away stating to happening..lots of crashes. Liquigas rider there is Willems.
Main duo Quiziato and Franzoi keeping himself at the peak. Looks like better today will be Quiziato..specialy has he takes hills.
There is 120km. to go when Bak decided to go for solo.
2 riders follows..Hovelnik and Jalabert.
Spilak sliping away..in downhill..
De Waele atack..still 40km. to go.. This is time for Liquigas to do something. Breakaway has solid lead already.
And here we go..Quiziato atack in cobble section.
Barredo counter atack..he passes Quinziato.
When Quiziato reached Barredo backwheel ..he lauches another one.
Barredo coming back..this is great battle. Same time they passing..breakaway riders one after another.
At the same time Barredo managed to get back..Quinziato launches another atack..This is final he got away. There is still De Waele, Bak and Spilak at the front.
There was De Waele..Quinziato now at the 3rd. place...
There is Bak..just Spilak left, but seems we dont have enough distance to cach him.
Spilak takes a win...
This was fun race..tomorrow at Kuurne this is way more serious..no solo power games there. As I sayed in season presentation..top cobble races and inside top 10 places is more then enough. This is new situation after Pipo has left a team.
