GP Kooperativa
Team: Appleby, Downing, Sampson, Williams, Roche and Davis.
We have travelled to Slovakia to race a one day race which is pretty flat, but it got some small hills.
Todays break was a large group.
The break got split up and the front group started to attack when the pack were pretty close.
At the same time, Russell Downing and Dale Appleby decided to attack from the peleton.
They caught the break and just kept their high pace.
Russell and Dale had a mini gap when the sprint started, and the the riders who had been in the break all day had not much left in the tank.
1 km left and the gap was pretty big now.
We took an amazing 1-2 here and of course Russell and Dale had time to celebrate the win!
Guillaume Pont finished 3rd.
Our first win of the season! Awesome

End of May
May has been a succesful month, we took our first win in Slovakia and Dale got 2nd in the same race.
Pinarello rider of the month: Dale Appleby, with a fitness of around 70 he took a 2nd place in GP Kooperativa, which is just great.
Next up is first a one day race in Norway called Rogaland GP and then we will stay in Norway to compete in Ringerrike GP.

Rogaland GP
Team: Appleby, Downing, Roche, Davis, Williams and Elliott.
We tried to send Williams in todays break, but he didn't make it this time.
Instead a breakaway group including 4 riders got away, Laverde, Grabovskyy, Holoham and Sokoll.
Only 57 riders did race today and then no one could catch the breakaway. The strongest rider today was an Ukranian, Dmytro Grabovskyy!
Russell finished 7th, he could have finished higher up but the pack couldn't catch Sokoll, Laverde and Holoham from the mornings break.

Ringerike GP
Stage 1
Team: Downing, Appleby, Elliott, Davis, Roche and Williams.
Todays breakaway: Kondrut, Wilkinson, Sokoll, Newton and Eikeseth.
They worked hard together and when the first real attacks started with 10 km to go by Shimizu, Sokoll was still in front.
Then Russell and Dale decided to give it a go.
Appleby couldn't match the best today, but Russell kept his high pace, Sokoll was still alone in front with 4 km to.
Pidgornyy and Downing was just behind him.
But with 1km to go, the roles were changed. Sokoll was caught and he cracked.
Alex Ardila had much left in the tank in the sprint and he took the win today, Laengen (Joker-Bianchi) finished 2nd.
There was time gaps between Laengen and the rest, 16 seconds did Ardila and Laengen earn. Shimizu finished 3rd while Downing took a good 8th place on todays stage.

A little late, but here is the results of the first Grand Tour of the year, Giro d'Italia!
Almost every star was there, and it was Cadel Evans who took the win over Fränk Schleck, while Di Luca got the 3rd place.
Next up: Stage 2 of Ringerike GP.

Ringerike GP
Stage 2
Todays breakaway was pretty large, but they got caught easiely by the pack.
After the last hill on the downhill, Downing decided to attack!
But he got caught pretty fast, and now he didn't have to much left in the tank before the sprint.
But with 1 km to go, he was up there.
Downing couldn't win today, Clemens Frankhauser won instead!
Russell crossed the line as 6th.
GC:
18. Russell Downing, +36.

I'm sorry that I haven't updated at all for a while. The transfer season in the Man-game and my football in real has taken all the time.
But stage 3,4 and 5 from Norway is coming in a few minutes!

Ringerike GP
Stage 3
Oscar Gatto rode solo today, but he got caught easiely.
When the favourites started to attack, Russell tried to counter. But he hadn't the legs today, and he finished safely in the pack instead. The yellow jersey wearer Ardila took the win today!
I'm sorry that I don't have the GC results. But Downing is around 3 minutes behind I think.

Ringerike GP
Stage 4
Todays stage is pretty flat, and it will probably end up in a mass sprint.
The break got caught as expected and on the downhill after the last hill, Russell Downing attacked!
The japanese Shimizu countered but he couldn't catch Downing. It was time for the sprint and Russell had a good gap to Shimizu and then the pack some seconds behind Shimizu.
With 1km to go, it looked to be an easy win for Russell...
and Russell Downing took the win today, just great!
Shimizu crossed the line 21 seconds later, as 2nd.
Frankhauser won the sprint for the last podium spot ahead his team mate Eibegger. They finished 46 seconds late.
