Weekend is upon us! Finally time to watch some live cycling. Or not, if you were as smart as me and made plans at the time the gravel stage will be live. Enough self pity, time for the rankings after today's stage.
100 90 80 70 60 50 40 30 20 10 S7 Ayuso Del Toro Bernal Roglic Ciccone Tiberi Caruso Carapaz Poole Storer Ulrich 11 15 26 7 8 8 20 3 98 seancoll 11 15 7 40 7 80 Ollfardh 11 15 26 7 8 8 75 Nemolito 11 26 7 8 8 7 67 AbhishekLFC 11 15 7 8 3 44 Laurens 11 15 7 8 41 ember 11 15 7 8 41 kandesbunzler 11 7 8 7 3 36 knockout 11 7 8 8 34 alexkr00 7 8 7 22
Everyone apart from alexkr00 selected winner Ayuso, gaining eleven points each. Was it a tactical choice by alex, aiming for another surprise top-10 rider scoring a lot, or just thinking Ayuso would not be in form? Seems like his team is quite in form though, as Del Toro was second. Myself and some others thought he would have probably been too tired to get a result after working for his leader, but he proves the four of us wrong. 15 points each for the six managers that selected him. Only three people selecting number three Bernal though, netting them a nice 26 points per person.
Everybody selected Roglic and gains seven points, with more than half of the field selecting Ciccone and/or Tiberi, good for 8 points each. Caruso in seventh means 40 points for seancoll as the only one who had faith in him, so that's some juicy poiints there. Nevertheless, scoring 80 points was not enough for the stage win today, as Ulrich selected eight out of the ten riders, including the 20-points-Poole, scoring 98 points in total. America first, America second. The next couple then gives us Belgium third and Belgium fourth, with Ollfardh and Nemolito scoring 75 and 67 points, bringing the field closer again, as can be seen in the total points ranking.
S1-6 7 Total ember 365 41 406 alexkr00 362 22 384 seancoll 282 80 362 Ulrich 240 98 338 Laurens 287 41 328 kandesbunzler 251 36 287 knockout 246 34 280 Ollfardh 204 75 279 AbhishekLFC 230 44 274 Nemolito 207 67 274
The difference between first and last has been reduced again, but for now we still have ember as the maglia rosa. Alexkr00 also still in number two, although both of them did not have a great day. The Americans did, however, launching seancoll onto the podium, and Ulrich onto fourth. Laurens back to number five now.
Kandesbunzler had a stellar stage 3, but has been struggling a bit since, and now dropped back to sixth. Knockout just behind him in seventh, with Ollfardh leaving last place and jumping to number eight today. Abhishek and Nemolito with a little bromance both in ninth, which means nobody really is the red lantern today... right?
As always, spot a mistake, tell me!
Enjoy the weekend, enjoy the cycling!

Not that those points likely make a big difference but i did also have Storer in my lineup
The bottom is coming closer, cant say i'm surprised. Although the break could have helped me with Prodhomme in there ^^

I think I should also get those very minor Storer points from stage 7.

Ember and knockout both got two Storer points, the three managers with three points received minus one
Today could be a big day for some of you indeed!
