Maybe, but there are other reasons Valv_Piti for example, amongst others.
Also Jimmy Saville opened his speech at this cycling dinner by saying "All cyclists are theives..."
He used to be a cyclist and eventually the start to his speech became apparent, but opening with that left some people a bit shocked

underrated; hmm; after the first tdf stages i'd say romaine feillu! never heard of him before. he has an enourmous end speed. yesterday for example he took the wheel of mcewen and beat him!
what I like most about him is not his end speed, which is reasonable. it's his attitude. reminds me of Voigt. count on seeing him in breakaways in a few stages this year. he never gives up, and has such a fight in him.
also, he's pretty decent on the climbs too

Cant agree with eather..
you don't think Sastre is that good? I definitely do.
as for my opinion:
most underrated -> Christian Vande Velde
I agree with your choice of Vande Velde
He truly is a great rider all he needs is the opprotuity to lead and he will get a good result. (Tour de Georgia anyone )

Kohl just finished 3rd in Le Tour
I wouldn't exactly call him over-rated

doesn't matter. Evans, menchov, etc. were apparently not on CERA, so Kohl had a major advantage. |

A Schleck is meant to be the first person to seriously challenge Contador, how can he be underrated? |

The question doesn't really make sense. It implies a rider is rated (by who?) but that his actual level can be judged (by who ? once again), then you compare the differences between both and find the most overrated rider...
If the same person judges the riders twice at the same time, then there's no difference : no overrating, no underrating.
Biggest breakthrough or biggest disappointment of the current or coming season would make more sense to me... |

you're missing the point aquarius:
post the rider who YOU feel is most overrated BY OTHERS.
"Rider X is overrated. So many people say he's a good this and that, but when has he shown any of that? His reputation is based on one single good result, ages ago that was in fact caused by facto X and factor Y, not so much his talent"
That sorta thing |

If anyone was UNDER rated, then it was Boogerd. It always showed in the databases too. He was probably the strongest (that's different from best) hilly rider of the past 10 years, that's why every other hilly rider, who did have a sprint, chose his wheel. That way it was easy, the one who can follow Boogerd, will win the race.
Proven so for years. Bettini, Rebellin, Di Luca, Cunego, and some other profiteurs. And from those guys, he was the best climber as well (Tour de France wise), if Di Luca or Cunego can win the Giro, Boogerd could have won it too. Most underrated rider of the past decade. |

maybe not the most overrated rider but the most disapointing rider for me was in the last years Markus Fothen
he could never reach the level again when he whore the white jersey in the tour and nearly won it
I am the king.
