conspiracy theory against T-mobile. Just one day looking for stats and notice that Rogers has in mountains 76 and Popo 80...I know plakker hate T-mobile and he's stats has been so far the best, still ? Lets hope Rogers knee works well and then I can proof it, lets see that in real TdF mountain stages.

actually, I don't really agree with a lot of plakker's stats. I did back in early 2005. 99% of them are unchanged since then. which is simply odd.
that's why I made my own DB. took me forever

okay, I can send them, but I must ask you don't distribute it or anything. I just made it as I see the cycling world, as DB that I could be satisfied with just to play for myself.
essentially because of the normal problem of most DBs that is "cyclist x is better than cyclist y. so he gets one more point for mountain, one more for stamina, etc etc".
all the riders end up being the same. it's ridiculous. I, for instance have no problem giving Piepoli a higher mountain stat than Vino or Valverde...but he'll get nowhere near as much stamina or resistance, so he won't be able to compete.
another example: because Valverde does well in the mountains and in the hills, he usually gets 81 for each. that's ridiculous. classic races are 50% MO stat, 50% HIL stat. check the .xml files, you'll notice that. giving him so high in each will make him dominate everyone every time.
anyway, I'm ranting here, sorry
send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll send it to you

Volta ao Algarve (stage 2) Castro Marim - Tavira
There is one more stage wich I played last night it's time to post it
Very sharp and short climb 15,5% 57km. before finish. Cruz, Lowe, Cummings protect and help sprinter Uros Murn to get over it.
There was sprint point about 5km. before finish wich confuses of lot of riders plans. McEwen sprinted hard and after that he kind of missed primary sprint. Not in the picture Predictor train was built left side and they are probably to far. Murn looks well placed.
Eisel comes first that is clear but very close and fun fight who's gonna be second. Murn is one of them. McEwen is way to far ..he don't make it.

I love it with intermediate sprints near the end, it's so easy to get out front and then stay there

Amgen Tour of California
Seaside - San Luis Obispo (payback time)
nice "shark tooth" at first half of the stage...lightly uphill and then downhill- intresting sprint
Boogerd is back on the group..when group splits in hill he find himself left down.
Good teamwork Boogerd get's easily back to main punch.
Finaly tempo is up and gap between to breakaway riders starts to melt. Already starting to belive that this is CSC play to give away important sprint points
30 km. before finish I was almost shure that Moletta and Cornu will make it thrue the finish. But stage is to long for duo great solo show.
Time to sprint...most active man in group is Bettini who is zig-zaging and looking best sprint-train..i decided to follow him. Bileka looks tyred..i set Hincapie,Davis duo to follow.
Ou...five riders group moves away from peloton.
Marcus Ljungqvist ,Hincapie , Davis, Bettini, Bellizotti, Arvesen
here they go. Hincapie follows Bettini
This is gonna be between Arvesen, Bettini, Hincapie.

Volta ao Algarve (stage 3)
Lagoa - Lagos
Breakaway group on stage bigest climb. Ofcorse Algarve tour "breakaway king" Joachim is one of them.
and few moment later I notice Klöden at the first time in the peloton. Taking easy no rush ,drinking.
How beatiful is up there. This was hard climb all sprinters feel it a little in theyr legs.
Strange was that nobody didn't attack...this was ok for me...they have destroyed Disco squad easily.
Prepearing to sprint. It's perfect..Murn is placed himself on McEwen back wheel. But that big mounatins has done lot of damage to his sprinting power.
McEwen go's and takes second ..quite easy win. Murn is 4.th. thats good but..he starting to get tired about his 4.th. places.

Amgen Tour of California
Solvang ITT
Most important race in California tour. Todays winner can consider himself almost all tour winner.
Cadel in start podium. When he arrived 1-st. timecheck..he was 3.rd. In finish 7th. +1'03 behind.
Noe doing well..without that fall in 2.nd stage he will be for shure GC contender ,in this stage 5th. palce +49
Dario David Cioni +48 and 4th. Cioni getting day by day better. At first stages I doesn't notice him..now he on every stage in picture.
3 rd. Jens Voigt +40...CSC has been my worst nightmare on this tour. When Jens passes 1.st. time check he plasts the best time.
Zabriskie..thank good he weares that point jersey and no that scary american TT champ one. He moving strong..1.st in 1.st time check.
Disco golden boy decending..before hilly part he was 3.rd in this point he was even with Zabriskie or few seconds already head. In finish line 1.st. and Zabriskie 2.nd +17.Job done.

Sorry, but as you know, this is the American term, please use the English term holiday. English is of course right, whereas American English is just wrong. Sorry to point that out, but I feel strongly on that issue
why is it wrong?
that's just.....
I can't even find the words.
are you insane? if americans speak in a different manner, it's their choice. it's not like the UK and the US are the same country.
do you also go around telling australians to learn how to speak properly? |

Ok, forget I said it. It's just the Americans adopted the English language, and I don't like the fact they changed it a bit. What I just said wasn't what I don't like, I realise now, it's words they spell worng, like grey, not gray.
I just go over the top some times in attacking the American language, it's just I'm a very patriotic english man, and I get carried away sometimes. Sorry

patriotism has caused most of this world's problems.
be calm about it Crommy, it's not the same language, it's a different brand of english, so...it's not like it's supposed to be the same.
I don't go around yelling to brazillians "learn to speak properly!!!" |

Yet more for the politics thread, and we're in the wrong one again
I'll try to moderate my outrageous patriotism so I don't cause problems, and I agree, patriotism has caused most of the worlds problems

Volta ao Algarve (stage 4)
Vila Real de Santo António - Loulé
Ok we got lot of sharp hills to ride. I but most of the team protect Uros Murn and hope he survive to the sprint.
To strong Quickstep riders Proni and Grabowski..separates rest of peloton on the hill top. They don't give up noticed that they have made some gap and starting to eat one by one early breakaway raiders.
80 km. to go McEwen seems to have problems to follow and lots of others sprinters geting in difficulty on the same mountain. Murn is protected almost with all team..he bearly survives.
Predictor -Lotto team has done great job to get McEwen back to the peloton...
..but in next mountain top he has problems again. This doesn't seems to have sprinters stage. Starting to predict that Murn has also given to much strenght away.
Finish...Steffen Wesemann and team WIESENHOF got his first strong win.Murn was 9.th. to tired manage better.
