Good results looking at the fact that it was a tough race.

Thanks, was a fine result on Fyn

Sundvolden Grand Prix 177.6 km (1.2)

i.imgur.com/1SFUp83.jpg

Already at breakfast on Sundvolden Hotel supposed leader Frederik Wandahl reveal that he do not feel very well and do not expect to perform as he should today. It is decided that Aksel Skot-Hansen and Noah Takaima will take over as co-leaders with Nicolai Brøchner in a free/supporting leader role.

Its a bit cloudy but otherwise a nice day on a beautiful route, soon a 10 rider group form today’s breakaway, there is no truly dangerous rider in the group. Nothing very important happens before we get to the long climb with about 40 km left. At the climb the pace is upped dramatically reducing the leader group from 91 to 29 riders over a few uphill kilometers. Now just two riders left out front with only 40”.

As he said Wandahl condition is very bad and he was dropped on the climb.

The breakaway is over, a counter attack from two punchers was closed down, but we get a new acceleration over the last hill top before the uphill finish, Riccardo Zoidl from Felbermayr - Simplon Wels, Pierpaolo Ficara from Sapura Cycling and Gabriel Reguero from Bahrain Cycling Academy.

Gabriel Reguero wins the race in front of Andreas Leknessund from Uno-X Norwegian coming up from the pursuit. Riccardo Zoidl takes the last podium.

On ColoQuick it has been clear over the last 20 km that Noah will have the best option today, as a combination of him being the best climber and having a very good daily from. Nicolai Brøchner burns out before we reach the final climb, but Aksel Skot-Hansen use his last resources leading Noah up to the final kick.

Noah Takaima comes 9th in a race where the team was doomed to be underdog, a perfect result. Aksel Skot-Hansen 2nd best from the team as 18th.

Ringerike Grand Prix 204.2 km (1.2)

i.imgur.com/4QY4588.jpg

Frederik Wandahl is feeling much better this morning able to lead the team today, but with a flat finish Nicolai Brøchner might take over as team favorite if he makes it over the last climb in the first group.

11 riders form the morning breakaway, including quite dangerous Karel Hník and Bernat Font Mas, the pack is very alert and keeps the breakaway in a short line. The breakaway is already over at the 2nd hill with more than 60 km left. There have been splits but now the pack is leading the pace slow and everyone get back.

An insignificant late attack was reeled in and the leading group was reduced to about 30 riders, with 11 km left another attack this time led by very dangerous punchy sprinter Aaron Gate from Black Spoke Pro Cycling Academy

Coloquick is doing quite well sitting with 5 riders in the 28 rider strong pursuit, with less than ten 10 km left and past the last hill we have formed a train Frederik Wandahl - Noah Takaima - Nicolai Brøchner, attempting to close down the duo in front.

The duo was caught, but just to see another acceleration by Trond Trondsen from Team Coop, Aaron Gate, and Alois Kaňkovský from Elkov – Kasper, no one able to catch this trio and well deserved after some aggressive riding Aaron Gate won the race in front of Alois Kaňkovský.

Noah opens the sprint for Nicolai from 1400 meters, Nicolai finished 7th, Noah 13th.

Hvidbjerg, Denmark, Monday 11.5.2020

Christian Andersen have sent an SMS calling Noah to a meeting 8.00 Monday morning

Christian Andersen: “Good morning, sit down and have a coffee, this might take a while.” Noah takes a chair and a cup, a bit nervous about what this is all about “Thanks”

Christian Andersen: I promised you a trip to Italy remember?

Noah: Yes

Christian Andersen: I have arranged for you to travel to Trento right after your next race and meet with riders and staff from Bardiani-CSF-Faizanè, you will stay with them for 3 days to train in the mountains, and see how you like being a climber.

Noah: Interesting I like that

Christian Andersen: There is also an option that you can stay there for a longer period, say 10-12 days and train specifically with their climber Giovanni Carboni, who came 4th on a brutal mountain in the Giro last season, but that would be quite costly for us, so if you do this we will have to change our long term training goal for you aiming for you to become a Stage races.

Noah: oh…

Well just last evening if have been approached by Dutch “Beat Cycling Club” looking for a strong young rider, they can turn into a cobbler specialist, they have cleared with UCI that we can switch a young rider, you will have to stay with them form 1/6 and all next season on a loan contract, more likely to get some cobbled races, but you will have to pay € 500 to stay with a family there.

I know it is a lot to think about, but I need a fast answer, let me know tonight.

Voting:
Option 1:
3 days in Italy: no change in team or rider type, +1 STA, +1 DHI, +1 ACC

Option 2:
Training with Carboni, change rider type / training to climber, +1 MO, +1 STA, +1 DHI, +1 ACC, +1 TTR, -2 COB

Option 3:
Sign a loan contract, +1 COB, +1 FLA, +2 STA, +1 RES (reduced salary to 2000/month)

Option 3 is good, but the loss of money might hurt. Option 2 is also good, but the loss of cobble is the only reason I didn't pick it right away. I think Option 3 is the best one, so I'll go for that.

Fabianski
I'd like to keep the rider type for now, so options 1 or 3 would be fine for me. 3 Is probably a bit better, although I don't really like the loan-out.

Tamijo
@ Fabianski, I'ii take that as 1/2 on 1 and 1/2 on 3 or ?

Let's go with option 3.

Tamijo
OK thanks you both for voting.

Tricky decision. I'm going to go with Option 1, just to keep the options open, a 1.5 years commitment seems like a lot at this point. Would the percentage of race revenue still work the same way with the Beat Cycling Club? Or does he only get the monthly paychecks, still from ColoQuick?

Ripley
Yeah, option 1 for me. I wouldn't mind him becoming a climber or stage racer later, but for now I'd keep him a puncher/allrounder.

Thank you both for voting

Not exactly the same - can't disclose details about the "BEAT CLUB" system, as he does not know them, but in general the system will be similar 2000 + something from racing.

Tamijo
Option 1: 2 votes
Option 3: 2 votes
As the first option will always beat the 2nd (and so on) in case of ties the decision is 1.

Hvidbjerg, Denmark, Monday 11.5.2020

Noah is calling Christian Andersen on the mobile phone:
"Very glad to get to ride with Bardiani-CSF-Faizanè, and learn something about climbing, though I believe 3 days training will be fine, surely was tempted by the offer from Beat Cycling, but I am very glad to be with our team, would be sad to leave so soon."

Christian Andersen: "A god choice I’d say, take a look at the Alp’s and come back with new knowledge and experience. We will stay in contact with “Beat Cycling Club” as that will be a good choice for you if you continue to be interested in the Belgian classics, either as a transfer or a loan contract."

Christian Andersen: I think you have done very good lately with your performances on Fyn and at your Norwegian adventures. We got two colliding stage races and you can freely choose the one you want to ride. In both races you might get some liberty to join breakaways if you got the right legs, but as always team results will be more important than individual ambitions.

South Africa has been good for Noah so far, so I'd go for Option 1.

Also hopefully he has a chance to go in a breakaway in one of the stages Smile

I'd do for South Africa too. None of the races suit Noah to go for a good GC but the Limpopo KoM jersey might be an option.

Ripley
I'm open to both, but I'll join the others and pick option 1.

I'll go for option 1 as well and think jaxika's idea is quite good actually.
