But the whole idea why i started that game was to practice sprints because i had done an astana and euskaltel game and had no sprinters so wanted a change thats why i was sprinting so it basically wrecked my career because i was having fun with it. Knees had improved to an 80 hill and 77 mountain and velits was a 79 hill amd 77 mountain and was going to put him in giro see if i could get a top 5-10 I was not impressed at all with the stupid sponsor goals as if i would of carryed on the only way of winning the tour was by signed doped riders like basso and ricco off free transfers |

But one question, how the hell did you wn the tour of Malaysia with Cavendish? As i remember there is atleast one mountain top finish
Thanks.....
Stage 8 is the only mountain-top finish and tbh I wasn't expecting Cavendish to retain the lead at the end of it. As the strongest team I controlled the pace of the pack, and left the break hanging about 2 minutes ahead for the length of the stage. When I got to the climb it was long (about 30km) but only about 2.5% gradient, and as the break was still quite close none of the other teams started to chase. This meant that I could keep the group together until the final sprint so even my weak climbers kept up, at which point Devine burst away from the pack to win by 30 seconds. Although Cav lost a bit of time he had scored so many time bonuses along the way in previous stages that he stayed in yellow!

Can we see Devines stats?
certainly.....I've attached a screen of most of my squad, Devine is 6th on the list and has pretty much peaked in his improvement. The real surprise has been Pardilla, who I signed as a Luxury Team mate in the off season. His stats were good when I signed him in October, but his TT, Mountain and recovery stats have gone mad!
Devine and Pardilla are co-leaders in the Vuelta al Pais Vasco - could be a good result for me!
Early Classics Update MSR-GP Miguel Indurain
Rubbish!!!!! We had a decent Classics season last year but failed to get off to a good start this time round, with only 1 podium; 3rd for Hincapie in the Brabantse Pijl. However, things picked up a little in the run in to the Pais Vasco, with Pardilla winning the TT stage of the Driedaagse van De Panne in early April, and John Devine winning the GP Miguel Indurain.
I have high hopes for the PV , and no hopes at all in the upcoming BIG Classics......

That's the reason I started a columbia game!

You could change the sponsor goals to something a bit more sensible - most people don't necessarily consider that cheating.......

Yea i had to do it to continue playing my career.. and i hate cheating.
Making your sponsor goals realistic is far from cheating. |

I'm playing on hard. I'm not dominating, but I am targeting specific races so it might seem that way. The classics I'm rubbish in, and I'm using other races simply to get race fitness up, but the shorter PT stage races I'm doing well at because I'm getting strong teams together. Pardilla, for example, was specifically targeting the Vuelta al Pais Vasco this season, and so was at 98 fitness for the second half of the race. Hincapie's main focus was the Tour of California. The big test will come in the Grand Tours, when all the big guns will be at high fitness! |

As if to confirm the previous email, I finished the Tour de Romandie yesterday. A disappointing 5th for Thomas Lovkvist, mainly due to losing 2 minutes on one stage to the overal leaders.
On the plus side, Ricco won the Vuelta a Asturias, his final warm up race prior to the Giro.
I also started the Giro (1st 5 stages complete)...... |

playing with TEAM CSC @ TdU 09
a lot worked as it should, but.... Mr. Thomas Voeckler won the Vuelta!
got ~15 min in one of the last hilly stages in a breakaway and was able to pull out another 5 min in the last stage to madrid... he won by less than 10sec over evans

Can do - I'm at work at the moment so have to wait until I get home.....
Today I am very sad, because last night, on stage 11 of the Giro, Jai Crawford had led a breakaway over 4 climbs, putting him in an almost unassailable lead in the mountain classification (60 points to Basso's 15), the peloton was bowing towards the awesome climbing power of my cycling heroes - Gerdemann and Siutsou were driving up the second to last climb for Pardilla and Ricco, and riders were being dropped like flies...........
......and then it crashed......noooooooooooooooo!!!!!
Oh well, have to replay the stage tonight! But I bet it won't go to plan like it was the first time! |

Next stage in my CSC career is the Angliuru in the Vuelta. Arroyo leads after he won in a breakaway with 14 minutes to the rest. Menchov is on second, and my own Sastre on third. Cancellara won the ENECO Tour.
Top 12 in the Vuelta.
I'm gonna play now, I update after the world's |

Probably a big break that stayed away

i was so gobsmacked by the first bit that i didn't bother to read the rest.
but the field couldn't have been that strong to allow him 5 mins on the last stage. breaks are never allowed to build up that kind of lead on the last day, esp if they contain someone who's only 5 mins down on GC. what were the teams of the riders in the top 10 doin? |

ok, lets take look:
Voeckler
Evans (4 sec down)
Contador
Valverde
Cobo
Sanchez
Klöden
Lastas (gained 8min in an early break)
Barredo (same...)
Leipheimer
11. Sastre .. my guy, medium morale, but 88-92 points fitness through the hard stages, which should be competitive in the vuelta as a main climber... on hard, and i really had no chance to outgun the top 5 with not many races ridden with sastre (mainly suisse + Tour)

I always try to have my main GC guys on at least 95 fitness in the GTs, otherwise they get dropped on the really big climbs!
Did you sim the final stage? |
