Great story...
Game looks great too...
And what an early season Rodriguez is having for Caisse d'Epargne, that's his second overall victory if I'm correct!!

Stage 2 - Paris Nice
Almost no wind today for the 14 man breakaway. They want for it after just 10km and we didn't participate as the pack rode hard to get them back. They didn't give up though and had a 7 minute lead after about a 100km. Here we are with 44.4km to go and the lead is plummeting.
Jalabert tries his luck alone. But with 20km to go and the pack going 50km/h it is futile to resist.
At 2.8km Kolde Fernandez looks to be placed perfectly on the wheel of Daniele Bennati, this could be good! Boonen, Freire and Haussler have taken up positions in the neighbouring trains.
But Bennati and Fernandez are blocked in! Wegmann, McEwen and Chavanel form an effective wall in front of us and we've got nowhere to go!
Meanwhile Boonen, Freire and Haussler have found open road in front of them!
And it's Haussler in front of Boonen, Freire and McEwen. Bennati and Fernandez never recovered from their bad positioning. Unlucky! Fernandez has to settle for 20th while Galdos, who was well spent after leading up Fernandez managed to grab 9th.

Stage 3 - Paris Nice
Flat with a bit of a ripple on the end of it today. Since it's so close, we might aswell try and get a few seconds on the competition. It's not so big that Fernandez can't make it over though. So a double salvo today. Galparsoro went on the early break but got caught in one of the smaller groups in between the peleton and the lead group. With 80km to go he has to come to his senses and relax a bit, or he will explode today.
35km to go and it's coming to an end for the breakaway. Liquigas and Caisse are setting a killer pace as we start on the section of small hills in the last third of the race.
The last of the breakaway is caught with 20km to go. Bettini has put himself up front of the pack, he might have a go at this.
Noone wants to take the first stab at it so Astarloza does, he gets a small gap and increases the distance. Schumacher drops of the front at Rebellin shoots forward!
Rebellin and Astarloza have their gap! But with 13km to go, it's not looking very likely! Fernandez has managed to stay with the pack.
And there was no chance for Astarloza, with 3km to go he gets swallowed by the pack and begins his sprint so he wont drop out the back of the reduced pack.
Fernandez has found the wheel of Haussler in the green jersey. He's looking at Bennati on the left who seems to be better placed but that's not a train we will be buying anymore tickets for!
Perhaps we should reconsider that.. Bennati absolutely demolishes the competition today. The rest of the sprinters had a good fight, but Bennati was in a league of his own!

Stage 4 - Paris Nice
As far as mountainstages are concerned this definately is no monster. A bumpy ride with the largest difficulty of the day a good 20km from the line. None the less, the favorites will be there in the end. And we will have to be with them.
Astarlozas reward for his efforts yesterday is a nice polkadot jersey. We've sent Hernandez on the attack to sweep for mountainpoints along the way.
Fernandez leads the 10 escapees up the Cote de l'Aubepin. An overzealous fan almost causes an accident.
The breakaway is caught. As we come to the last climb of the day the favorites watch eachother for a while. Untill Andy Schleck goes on the attack! Astarloza counters!
Asterloza is the strongest on the climb today as the other favorites struggle to keep up. Moncoutie is barely hanging on as Astarloza adds 10 points to his account.
15km to go, 14 riders in the front group. Everyone of the favorites are present.
As we come onto the flat we pick up the wheel of Thomas Dekker who looks to be the fastest finisher in the group along with Voeckler.
Vockler takes it! Dekker 2nd and Asterloza 3rd. Cobo and Schleck are 4th and 5th.
A good stage for us as we showed everyone that we've come to compete for top honors.

Stage 5 - Paris Nice
The queen stage of this years Paris-Nice. 160km of uneven terrain and then a 16km grand finale on the Monet Serein, part of the renowned Mont Ventoux! The tactics are simple today - Noone does anything at all. We don't wanna risk a puncture and not having enough people to help our captain back. Keep him topped of with water and nice and snug out of the wind. Mikel promised me he would try be agressive today so we should be in for a treat.
At the halfway stage a few groups are spread out of in front of the peleton. They lead by around 6 minutes at the top but there's never any question about the outcome.
As we come upon the Col de la Madelaine it's all coming together. Just look at that terrain!
John Gadret draws first blood as he shoots away from the pack at the foot of the climb. A few opportunists follow his example. So far, none of the big guns have made a move.
10km to go. The pack is reducing as riders drop out of the back. Gadret is still in the lead. Astaerloza is getting anxious.. he wants to go!
8km. Gadret is caught by the pursuers.. Astarloza is still waiting for his moment, as none of the favorites dare to attack.
6.6km to go... and that was it for Astarloza, he simply could not wait anymore! He bursts in front and sets a high pace to split the weaker riders from the front.
3.9km to go. Asterloza sits on Dekkers wheel and recuperates a little. 11 riders come closer to the finish. The other favorites are strangely quiet.. could it be they simply don't have anything left in them?
2.6km to the line. Let's find out! Astarloza accelerates away and noone can answer him!
As he comes upon the last 1000 metres he has a nice gap. They're coming quite fast from behind though!
But there is nothing they can do about Astarloza today! He had enough at the end of the climb to distance himself from the rest and conquers the legendary mountain. As he he crosses the line you can just make out Andy Schleck crashing in the last 400 meters.
Cobo leads Voeckler to take 2nd and 3rd spot, 56 seconds behind the man of the day.

2 Juanjo Cobo Saunier Duval - Scott + 49

What a nice result for us! But with 2 hard stages to finish of this years Paris-Nice it's not over yet. Tomorrow will be another chance for Koldo Fernandez to grab a stagewin. Stay tuned!

except this one doesn't end on the Ventoux
I wish it was, but it's "only" the Mont Serein. there's a typo on the stage name

It's part of Mont Ventoux
Taken from the PN site: Mont Serein and its ski resort which was created in the ‘30s are situated on the north side of Mont Ventoux, the Vaucluse’s emblematic mountain. |

yeah, that's just taking advantage of the name
Mont Ventoux (windy hill) is one side of the mountain, the steepest and longest one with strong winds that make it even harder. The Mont Serein is the much shorter, much less steep opposite side with no wind at all
Again: I wish it was the Ventoux
