Stage 1
The Team:
Sponsor Goal: Wear the climbers jersey.
Tony Gibb is injured and can't participate in TOI and TOB.
Ben Swift was our man for the KOM jersey, therefor he attacked in the beginning. He created a break, and won both KOM finishes.
Swift taking maximum points in the KOM competition.
With 48 km left of the stage Lagutin, Buffaz, Popov and Bailetti attacked. They joined Ben Swifts group. But they were caught.
In the sprint Bellis got Vermeltfoorts wheel. But couldn't take a podium place, he finished fourth.
Pietropolli of LPR wins the first stage of TOI 2008!

Bellis behind Pietropolli.
Jonathan started to sprint with 1,5 km left of the stage and it looked good.
YEES! He won!
Bellis is now third in the GC 8 seconds behind Pietropolli, Vermeltfoort is second, he is also 8 second behind the italian.

Tour Of Ireland
Stage 3
The route today was 184km long and had some small hills at the end.
Ben Swift decided to not attack because he wanted to save energy.
The breakaway consisted of 6 riders, but they couldn't win today. They were caught with 45 km left.
Jonathan Bellis decided to try with the Collstrop train today.
Bellis behind Marcato.
Collstrop seemed to have the best train, and this was Bellis position when the sprint had just began.
Bellis following Marcato.
With around 1,5 km left, Bellis started to sprint.
Is he going to win?
YEES! He is!

Tour Of Ireland
Stage 4
A pretty tough stage in the end. Bellis is just trying to keep his jersey after todays stage.
The TV-break today consisted of 15 riders, the most dangerous one in the GC were Samuel Dumolin (Cofidis).
Todays breakaway.
They created a really good gap, so with 85 km left of the stage we sent almost the whole team to relay hard in the peleton.
Plowman relaying.
The young danish talent Andre Steensen tried an attack with 63 km left of the stage. But he created nothing.
With 30 km left, the breakaway had 4 minutes on the peleton.
When there only was 10 km left, Bellis had to do something, so he attacked.
Bellis attacking.
Right now there was one front group including Tomei, O'Brien, Potgieter and Dion. But they were not a threat for the GC. Dumolin "the dangerous one" sat in the second group, was Bellis going to catch them and hold the jersey for one more day?
Yes, he catched the second group.
The winner of todays stage is...
Tomei of CSF Group Navigare.
Bellis couldn't win over Dumolin in the sprint and he finished 6th.
Bellis finishing.
GC:
There were no time differnces between gruppo Bellis and the peleton.

I just read the majority and i'm impressed. If you can keep that up with the hard setting next year i'll be amazed! Keep up the writing, and i'm looking forward to seeing the team in all its glory next year. Maybe push for the first GB team to be promoted into the PT? B)

Sporting will beat you for that rjc
as for you Larsson - I often feel the same but yes I do read your story as I like the team choice - I find a lot of stories annoying because they're so unrealistics but this is really good. apart from bellis dominating TOI

wackojackohighcliffe: I know that Bellis results in TOI were not realistic, therefor I will change to hard.

End Of August
James Jackson got the young rider award again!
Plowman Rider Of The Month: Jonathan Bellis. I know that Jackson won Brittish Championships but he got a award in the magazine so therefor Bellis got this instead. Jonathan won Tour Of Pendle, 3 stage wins and the GC in TOI.

Plowman Transfers
I will now start the presentation of the new signings for next year.
The first rider I will introduce is a young puncheur from Czech Republic.
Jakub Danacik:
Danaciks profile.
Jakub is only 19 years old and is a big talent. Maybe he can take some victories next year. He is really strong in the small hills, good in the mountains and he isn't bad at sprinting. Hopefully he can develope into a good rider in the future.
I can also tell you that Evan Oliphant and James Jackson has signed new contracts with Plowman Craven.
But Tom Barras, Neil Coleman and James Millard will leave the squad.

Tour Of Britain
Stage 1, Prologue
Tour Of Britain 2008 starts with a 9km long prologue.
Plowman Team:
Sponsor Goal: Stage Win.
Plowman Craven isn't expecting much of the most important stage race in Britain. Many big stars are here, for example Fabian Cancellara and George Hincapie. A stage win would be unbeliveable for Plowman.
Jonathan Bellis started early.
Bellis finished 41th, +58.
Fabian Cancellara showed his WC jersey and took home the victory.
Fabian on his way to victory!
George Hincapie did a good prologue.
He finished 2nd, +12.

Even if I sign a few non brittish I will have most brittish riders in my team. I try to buy the brittish riders first but some I won't get and some are really bad, like I tried to get Ed Clancy but he signed a new contract with Landbouwkrediet. I still think my story is pretty real even if I sign some non brittish riders.
