A few questions:
1) To those of you who have won Cya3, what was your strategy as far as effort? Do you just keep your effort bar low and hide in the pack or stay at default effort near the front. I had a solo breakaway early and about 15 kms from the finish have a ~3:30 min advantage but my yellow bar was empty and got caught about 5 kms from the finish.
2) Is there a guide on what you get XP for? I know I got some for my first ride and 25 and 50km breakaways but I would like to know how to earn outside winning stages and jerseys.
3) When do you take your energy gel?
4) Since I can control the left and right movement of my rider, do I get a drafting effect if I sit in a pack or can I sit on the outside of a peleton and get the same effect? Same for a breakaway?
5) Any recommendations on time trials as far as effort, heart rate, etc?
6) Will there be a future Lachi editor to edit my rider's rating? And before anyone goes off on how easy it is to improve through racing, keep in mind I have a new house and two young children. I will be lucky to play this game a 1-2 hours a week at best so I don't have time to invest in 10 seasons (though it does go quicker when I can just focus on my races rather than a whole team). |

Lot's of good riders showed up for TDSuisse and I was in a close pack between 5th-11th place in GC. Last MO stage I got 4th and climbed to 6th place in GC. 35 seconds behind Bardet at 5th and 10 seconds in front of Talansky at 7th. Last stage was a flat 20 km TT. Had to beat Bardet but also keep Talansky behind me to finish 5th and qualify for the Vuelta.
Managed it by just 15 seconds. I think it was the fitness peak that saved me. Even beat Froome and Kwiatkowski on the TT |

Anyone else has noticed, that a level up does not change any stat?
A cap of stats can't be the reason, if i see the stats of you guys. Perhaps a bug?
Solved the problem by myself. Just simulated one day.
Mointain 75 on 1. June of the first year as 19 year old. Really heavy

Go to the next day. Should work then. |

This is way more fun than I thought it would be.
Still desperately trying to get my first win as a 19 year old sprinter, but having lots of fun. |

it's really not that hard, train harder.
I usually leave it between 2/3 for most race and just before a race i train less hard to have full fitness.
Then I train 2 weeks on 4 if I have a goal approaching, and then the week before the race again 2 for a week before the race to have full fitness.
once or twice a year i can use a training week 5 but it increases fatigue too much |

So I've gone through about 2 years and a half since the release of the game while playing around 15 - 25 stages (Yay for summer break for allowing me to do this!)
So I started off as a 20 year old American northern classics rider riding for the u23 team Chambery Cyclism Formation. The first season was a huge success for me as I won the u23 Paris-Roubaix, Ronde, Rund um Den Finanzplats and la cote Picarde.
During the season I trained as a puncheur giving me a good hill stat and a serviceable sprint stat.
Thne I moved on to MTN-Quebeka on a minimum contract. It was a good season for me as I finished first in the Driedaagse Van Vlaanderen, u23 Ronde, La Cote Picarde and Tro-Bro Leon. Apart from that I took a nice KOTM jersey at the tour of California.
So far through the third season I've done okay. I won the u23 Ronde and La cote Picarde for the third straight year as well as taking the KOTM at the tour of california for the second straight year as well as a stage win.
It looks like next year i'll be going to Cofidis to be the leader of quite a bad team in all honesty.
here are my stats if anyone is interested:
Im a bit dissapointed with development of riders and teams so far as young riders are completely OP. Still, it's quite a fun mode to play |

The newest patch just released couple of minutes ago will slow down the progression in Be a Pro mode. |

I like that you trained him all-around and not only at his main stat!
Yeah, stat development is too quick, the new Cyanide patch seems to solve that, at least the change log says so.

I actually like the faster development of young riders. It's a bit like real life. Look how fast Pinot, Quintana, Kittel, Bardet or more recently Alaphilippe and Migual Angel Lopez have ascended.
The only trap is that the chance of high potential riders is too high, so too many of those talents pop up. That can be edited in the database |

Will it affect ongoing games, or should I start again? |

Yes it will affect ongoing games.
Although if you're 83SP already it won't set you back to 78, obviously, it would only affect future development.

I have just signd for Etixx-Quick Step(season 3) and to get to paris nice or tirreno I have to win a HC category race overall or one of the other jerseys. And then if I want to go to Giro/TDF/Vuelta I have to win a World Tour race etc.
So I wonder if I manage to do those goals this season so I get to a grand tour, do I then have to do those goals next season to?... |

I'm not sure if it's a bug (it seems like it to me) but when i find a team mates wheel to follow a sprint train tends to be put together and take shape, it works well but then suddenly the wheel i am following will slow out of nowhere (inside final 3KM) meaning i'm basically put out of contention for the sprint |

I have to say I love this mode. I just started as a 20 year old stage racer for Veranclassic-Ekoi and my progression has been very nice. I took 3 at the cya3 race, 2nd in the prologue and overall at that Croatian Stage race (don't know the name
Won the prologue and took 2nd overall at the Tour de Normandie. Unfortunately a break went clear and won by 7 mins despite my chasing and thrust a guy who was 59 overall into victory oh how pcm doesn't change haha. Looking for that elusive road win is hard but I'm hoping to get it soon then move up to pro conti with TopSport or maybe Cofidis. I do say I am fully addictted

Just started. Reidar Hördürfjördür has joined MTN - Qhubeka. 40th and 47th in my first two races. Should become a Gerrans-like rider with good HI and decent SP.

I'm only slightly disappointed that they have not included PCM14's slider for the stats, it would've made everything easier, so that anyone could set its own pace and if you want to win the Tour in two years or whatever, you can
(btw, I don't see it in the menu anymore, does it mean that this is not available in career mode anymore either? )
also, simulating seems to be slower. It's weird, because the races are smoother for me, instead, and the loading is faster. |
