So, those who've played a longer career - it is worth having a go at a career now? Or does it need another patch to make the progression system and most other elements work well? Seeing as I'd like to play it for a few seasons progression working properly is a must.

Thinking of starting a career today, but if it's not working properly I might as well stick to Be a Pro and wait for further improvements.

Progress isn't working properly even with legendary coaches though it does at least give some progression you still feel behind the CPU in progression

Thanks for the reply, if that's the case then I might hold off until another patch. Your Optum save was the one that gave me encouragement actually, with your young riders seemingly progressing quite well. Sound as if some improvements are still possible though.

Yeah it has helped with cheating myself 3 legendary coaches the only way to play on a slightly level playing field, it's quite enjoyable but I am feeling like i'm behind everyone else in terms of how there progressing for instance Scott Ambrose has only improved 3 times with me whereas around 6-7 in the same time period at Novo Nordisk, so you get the jist of how far behind you are.

Well, after getting my first paycheck of the year, 360NOK doesn't seem so much so I will be buying the game.

But just so I get a general idea; the Pro-mode sounds like it's worth the money in of itself, but is the manager-mode also worth it? Is it acually playable, or are there way to many frustrating aspects (as usual)?

I have a Problem in my BMC Career.
I've retryed it in weeklysaves and it also happens to me in every other career.

I can't sign new riders or extend expiring contracts in the period after 21 June.
No matter how good the offer is, they don't react to the offer and even prefer to be Jobless in the new season!
I am doing pretty well with BMC being 4th in UCI Tour, so no risk of going continental next season.

I am playing with the PCM.Daily 0.8 Database.
Is there anything that can be done, or should I try to transfer riders with Lachi's editor to me?

Tejay only got Dauphine and TdF left of his race days. Gilbert and GVA disappointed in the classics, so didn't get much points from there. Also Here is the Giro startlist, which sadly is filled with weak leaders (except for Astana) So Caruso can definitely take a Top 5 from here Smile

Today I saw the biggest diffrent between PCM 15 and PCM 13.
When Rond Vlaanderen was up.
My tactis was just to be forward in the peleton with around 70 km left and just try to be thet to the end to set up Kristoff for the sprint.
Dam it just killed the hole team and a pretty good team to
the 6 best was
11p Hagen +3.16 14p Keukeleire +4.20 15p Theuns 4.20 19p Benoot +4.59 20 Lampaert + 4.59 21p Kristoff 4.59.

everyone of them hade this race as a main objekt and everyone had perfekt conditional on all places and everyone of them was totaly empty in the end. I just to love the cobbelstone now I hate it hahaha. its make my head in spin what should I do to make a result in cobbelstone. I was 4 in E3 with Thuens and 2pl with kristoff in Gent.....

I started a quick career to see the difference between PCM 14 and 15 and the evolution of riders still seems to be ridiculously quick. I have Senechal in my team who in one year went from 74 AVG to 77 AVG. For example, he went up from 74 on cobbles to 81.
On PCM 14, there used to be an option in the settings where you could change how quick stats would develop, but I can't find it in PCM 15, has it disappeared?

Also, is the evolution of riders linked to their potential? All riders seem to have different potential levels (5-8; 1-4 etc...). So if someone is on 5-8, will they develop quicker?

I'd like to start a Conti career that I hopefully will play for a long time, with some promising riders but I don't want them to all be world beaters at the start of my second season

Yup its annoying. Kudus from MTN Qhubeka suddenly were Better in the mountains than Mollema. First season...
But then i thought, riders like Alphaphillipe, Zakarin also came out of nowhere so potentials in the Game Seem quite realistic

I've heard there have been made some changes to the scouting system this year. Has it been for the better? Also, is the rider development bettered at all by downloading the XLM(?)-files?

I keep going back and forth on wether or not I should by the game.

From what I've heard progression isn't as good, with the user not progressing as fast as other teams. Not a fan of the new scouting system either, you can't choose regions to scout which is a feature I liked. Overall I think career mode still needs another patch to be good for long careers.

XML's seemed to work well in my Be a Pro career, haven't really taken a proper look at them though.

Question for people that have played a long career, I've noticed that in my second season, there is a variation of the Tour de France. Are there variations of a lot of races (I imagine WT races) but does it last long or is there just a couple of variations and they alternate every year?

ramoserhard
Hi guys!

I'm starting a new career and I haven't played in a couple of years. Can someone give me a general starting guide to training, how many races for each riders etc. ?

janneff
I'm Optum p/b Kelly. Promoted to Pro Continental after 1st season. However I don't get enough races in 2nd season. I have on only about 10 races in my calendar. Every race organizer pretty much refuses my entry. Criterium International was only race that I managed to get invited that wasn't in my original schedule although I applied almost all races.

If I sign European riders, do I get more invitations to races in Europe or am I screwed?

I think it increases the chance, yes! But I also think it depends on the whole squad. They won't take you into their race if you don't have any good riders - or at least I don't think so.

So reached the 2015 Vuelta in my Orica career, and this happened...

i1332.photobucket.com/albums/w605/FroomeDog99/PCM0016.png

Adam Yates had evolved to 80 MO/77 HI by the start and the startlist was very weak. A declining Valverde (who had already been to the Tour) was the only real rival, and I just managed to beat him by 20 seconds, after having a 4 minute lead at one point.

By contrast, the Giro and tour both had strong startlists. Froome won both, and Chavez and Simon Yates managed top-10's in each race respectively. Other good results this year were 1st Amstel Gold Race with Gerrans and 1st San Sebastian with Matthews.

Quintana didn't race any GT's though which was strange, and Contador only did the Giro where he finished outside the top-10.

Transfers wise a declining Gerrans is leaving along with some other ageing riders leaving up plenty of room to bring in some quality leaders...

Michal Kwiatkowski (81 Hi)
Rohan Dennis (80 TT)
Wout Poels (79 Mo) - a bit of a late bonus as no-one else wanted him.
Alexandre Geniez (75 Mo)
Jack Bobridge (75 TT)
Robert Power (71 Mo)

Also signed some strong talents, including the new Australian Cancellara. Enjoying career mode actually, progression seems to be working well.

So I'm considering starting up a team career (again), however there's a couple of questions I kind of want answers to, and my google skills haven't helped me.

1) The reputation of staff, does it matter ANYTHING at all? I mean, is there a reason to pay 30k for a legendary ground breaking trainer, when you can get a national for 20% the price? Does the reputation offer anything? It's not like you can see how good they are, or what they are good at training (which it said on the home page when I googled)...

- Same as above for scouts and doctor.

2) Training Camps;
- Only temporary stats, or would I get something permanent out of them too? (Aka, are they just legal doping?)

3) Equipment;
- How much can really be done here? I've tried a career where I did some R&D with some tires, but they didn't really seem to improve, so don't really see the benefit...

4) Development Squad;
- Worth or not? What should I keep an eye on?

Thanks in advance.
