That was bitterly disappointing from Bouhanni... Had high hopes for him today.
Reza at least looked good for 7th which doesn't bring in many points but he finished in the top 5 of the sprinters which is a good sign for the future.
Now for a different type of racing, and a breakaway please!

Well, I had basically given up all hope on the flat sprint stages and this happens....
At first I was just thrilled about getting Blaz in the break as he has a quite good finnish actaully. When I saw the pictures near the end, Guillen nowhere near the trains and break almost caught, I lost all hopes and prepared myself for another Avelino/ Keukelere battle.
Then BOOM, how thing changed
Also Guillen is just a odd rider, I will never quite get him.
BTW, this had to be done:

ONCE with a huge stage. Old Guillen does it again and on top of it their break rider can just hang on. Awesome for them!
I would not mind some favourite wins on the next stages though...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Urgh...
Can't complain about a break winning a stage which clearly favours the break but to come that close and then lose a podium place to Guillen of all sprinters.
Urgh.

Great reports thus far thanks Alak - particularly liking the coverage of the sprints as presented, sorry I've not had time to comment on first few stages before now.
Racing in Venezuela is quite close to home for Nutresa. We have brought a mixed team with a couple of handy guys for the mtns (Ardila Cano and Aguedelo), Beltran for all-around awesomeness , Avila for sprints, Del Nero to do what he does, couple of youngsters for development and Quintero for all-round domestique duties. Hoping to get both mountain goats into the top 15 on GC, 1 might push into the top 10 with a bit of luck. Decided that 10RD's too much to send Talansky to lead and challenge for top 5.
Del Nero did his stuff in the break on the opening stage which was good to see. Avila has been hanging around in the sprints, with a top 5 to show from a couple of stages back which we were quite pleased with. All our main riders for GC finished in the 'main' front group on stage 4. Fairly anonymous thus far, but real racing just about to kick off! .
Congrats to the various managers who have been picking up the victories and points - Bouhanni and his train were particualrly impressive the first few stages.

I wonder when Bonsucro finally start the season if they will get some breakaway luck, hope so!
Great coverage so far, looking forward to some selective mountain stages. |

I've really found this stage fascinating, one of best ones I've seen unfold for sure, the Poorseyedi move my jaw drop that was pretty genius and it really helped, without him Rujano and Marquez would probably have closed the gap.
It was always going be tricky AI since it doesn't handle such stages well, i mean we had two climbs and two long descents, but it did quite well personally, and at the end the three best climbers were the only ones that could have got away. I think the AI has done as good as you could have expected from such a tricky stage overall.
P.S. Some CT have brought their infinite luck too

Wait PCM AI is able to put relay stations out there?!
Great stage, and Beltran is just Beltran. On the way to become a legend among unmaxed riders.
After a lot of AI experiences in my own PCM as well, I think it's rather safe to assume it just doesn't handle downhills well in the way that it tries to apply the "1 minute per 10k rule" when deciding the effort of the chase at all times even though a descent obviously distorts that massively.

Great stage! Favourites delivered some actions, some fine tactics (relay stations ) and good gaps.
But Beltran is just wow

Once again it was apparent what a tactical mastermind the Siam Cement DS is.
Great stage for the team obviously, I enjoyed every sentence of the report. Thanks Alakagom.
Now Sella is the biggest favourite for the general classification and on top of that Poorseyedi, who could hang on to the other two favourites, after doing an amazing job for his team leader, is 6th and Rodrigues still in 7th with the bonus seconds. My hope for the next stages is that Sella can soon secure the leaders jersey and afterwards maintain his gap on Marquez and Rujano. |

Hang on, but according to Avin the AI is terrible?
Great win for Beltran once again. Put him in a grand tour and he'd probably win with his luck |

The AI was always gonna have a hard time figuring out a stage like this Shame Rodas failed, but at least a exciting stage to watch

My young leaders still in the mix. This is good.
Not ideal to let the break gain time. Makes u25 fight harder as well.
Had hoped Pauwels or Clement had been part of such breaks. |
