This is the worst race to have any expectations for (and luckily we don't have a goal set for this race anymore), so I'm just looking forward to see the season finally starting in general and we'll go from there.
That's pretty damn cautious from the team with the top favourite.
See?
Yeah, you had good reasons to be cautious indeed. Bad luck again.
What happened to Jocelyn Bar btw, FroomeDog? Just noticed he did not finish, which definitely didn't help the Puma sprint train.

Gratz to knockout, an immense start to the season for Evonik. Certainly an interesting report (thanks to FD99), and seeing a break of flat monsters near the end makes some internal sense, but AI still stupid!

I cant stop laughing, despite seeing that many times in PCM 14. As the break of the day is caught, strong attackers usually burst away with pack doing nothing for a while and then it is too late. Lets hope we wont see that in every second flat race this year.
Congrats to EVONIK!

Wow Evonik lifting off to point-heaven already in their first race. Nice!

Not a viable excuse. We had 75 75 75 74 sprint left to choose from to add a third guy to that train and at least keep Ciolek fresh longer if we only talk about winning what was left behind the break.
And considering we didn't seem to help with the chase too hard, one of those should have still had energy left.

Agree it's not an excuse; the AI definitely failed you.
He might have made a difference though. We'll never know.
