Surprise..surprise. One and only move for stupid idea. Pat McQuaid canceled he's "suicide" action. |

Ullrich's case is getting weird. The prosecutors suggested a settlement, involving that Ullrich should plead guilty and pay a fine of 1.000.000 € - the prosecutors would then stop all on-going cases and lawsuits. Ullrich denied, and the prosecutors then suggested a fine of 250.000 and a partial confession. Ullrich laughed and said no again. |

I don't really think it matters all that much. Now, he's just a fat guy who has retired from cycling. I don't care if he's pleaded guilty - we all know he is - so what's the point? As long as he doesn't return (to Rock Racing?), I don't care. |

no one wants him back. although if he stays fat there could be a humorous aspect to a return

If he confesses je may lighten things about how it works, who "healed" him, etc. That would help getting rid of a couple of doping networks. |

One thing is confessing, another thing is making them talk |

In other news: IOC has received a guarantee from UCI stating that no Olympic-riders will be suspended.

I read that Michael Rogers is suffering from a mononucleosis which will let him out during two months.
I also read, but can't find a reliable source for it, that Eddy Merckx was rushed to hospital last evening because of a heart failure (infarctus) and that his life is threatened.
Though as long as I won't be able to find a more reliable source for it, I won't really believe it. |

if it's mono, he's done for the year. he'll be at the tour, but never in top form

Per VeloNews: Rogers has Epstein Bar Virus. He will be out eight weeks. It is the second time that he has had the virus. |

Belived or not..doper or not. I dont like this virus news. Even last year I was expecting for little surprise at him..(no no top 3 spot..but same great ride (like Kirchen did after). To stop db makers but him 74 on mountain stats.... After he's crash I thought ..ok next year. Now virus thing..this project will be up again next year..
At least my Tom Boonen campaigne was succesful.. |

I've had mono myself. I can guarantee he won't be in top form for the Tour. His year is pretty much done as far as good results go.
he should be racing in around two months or so though, that's pretty much for sure.

ADR and ZDF has decided that they will transmit the Tour de France this year. However, the contract hasn't been rewewed yet, meaning that no German channels currently have rights to transmit the 2009 edition of TdF
Contador has denied that he wants to ride for another team. He will stay at Astana even if they are not allowed to ride the TdF.
Sinkewitz has denied the rumours which said that he had mentioned Klöden as his "doping fellow" |

It seems like Rock Racing will receive one of the wildcards for Milano - San Remo. |

Pat McQuaid has stated that he and UCI will support Contador 100 % if he bring an legal action against ASO for leaving him out of the Tour 08. McQuaid says that he "knows Contador and the people around him - they're honest, and he's clean". |
