A breakaway of 4 has been formed.
Marzio Bruseghin(MOV)
Mikel Nieve(PLAYER)(EUS)
Pierre Rolland(EUC)
Jerome Pineau(QST)
At La Hourquette d'Ancizan lots of riders lost contact with the peloton including maillot jaune Enrico Gasparotto(ASTANA)
And Pineau lost the contac with the BOTD(Ancizan or Tourmalet can't remember)
Bruseghin and Nieve dropped Rolland at the slopes of Tourmalet.
Bruseghn had a small gap over Nieve and got the Souvenir Jacques Goddet Prize with cresting the Tourmalet in the lead.
Nieve bridged to Bruseghin in the descent as they started the Luz Ardiden climb together.
And Bruseghin dropped Nieve at the slopes of Luz Ardiden.
In the peloton Joaquim Rodriguez(KATUSHA)attacked early at Luz Ardiden along with Cadel Evans. They caught them. Then Rodriguez attacked again and got a gap.
And Evans,Contador and A.Schleck attacked as they bridged to Rodriguez. Then Basso and S.Sanchez(PLAYER) attacked and bridged to these 4.
And then Contador,Evans and A.Schleck attacked again and this time Basso,S.Sanchez(PLAYER) and Rodriguez couldn't follow.
And Scarponi,Gesink and Nibali bridged onto us but then we dropped them thanks to Basso's steady tempo.
Then Contador upped the pace and Evans left a small gap between Contador-Schleck and himself. Now he has to limit his losses.
And firstly Contador-Schleck then Evans caught and passed Nieve while Basso's tempo was too much for S.Sanchez and Rodriguez.
Marzio Bruseghin won the stage 1 minute 10 seconds ahead of Conta and A.Schleck while Evans arrived at 1'16''.Then Nieve just hang on for 5th ahead of Basso 1'40'' behind. Then Rodriguez and Sanchez arrived 1'49'' behind.Vino and Cunego finished 2'12'' behind and Scarponi-Gesink-Anton-Nibali-Van Den Broeck finished 2'17'' behind.
