Disastrous tour so far for us. Gavazzi's races days are utterly wasted here. Oelerich salvaged a bit, as long as he can hold on in Wilunga. Or Trentin has to do something special, like win the U25 jersey.

Decent effort with the leadout just seems Vanderbiest didn't have it considering Hoffman started behind him and finished in front overall not bad.
You are talking about Nolan Hoffman here, it is like speaking about why the sun gives the life.
Nice report Roturn and great podium from our South African champ, he took the perfect wheel and stormed from it, this tour is becoming better for Metinvest, so i hope Fery Rabon will capitalize with top10 in Willunga stage.

That's at least something for Oz on home soil. Nice win, even though i would prefer Visconti grabbing some GC-points. Either him or Jiao should be capable of at least trying something on final day. I hate stage-races with no Top-20

I guess this kind of result was to be expected after some hard stages for the team. Now I am crossing my fingers 40 seconds will be enough to keep the likes of Ulissi, Froome and Dowsett behind Van Stayen on Willunga.

I had no idea Cav wanted to provide other teams with a perfect lead out train, annoys me that he went fro. 1.1kms out.

Good to see Goss getting a victory on home turf!
Van Stayen may be presenting Wegmann-like problems to the pure punchers all year long in races like this.

Kastrantas doing well getting into the break again. Shame he was too slow in the mountain sprint.

Even though it is a little bit frustrating to lose the GC lead, it is hard to be dissapointed seeing the names Van Stayen managed to beat up Willunga. Great ride by Froome, though!
Only a victory good enough on the last stage in order for Van Stayen to win the race. Seems like his team mates was able to save some power today. Hopefully this means we can set up a train for next stage!

Fantastic, Gautier taking 4th on the stage and 5th on GC against this field is great, plus Mandri taking 18th and the KoM and Proni 14th is superb. Never thought I'd see the day we lead the teams classification in a hilly race |

Ain't too bad effort by Visconti, finally. 17th in GC wouldn't great, but still something after a rather shabby race GC-wise so far. A more aggressive racing in the hills though wouldn't have killed our less stronger riders though

First to attack and first to finish, job nicely done today Even 2nd in GC would be fine, a fine way to start the season if we don't crash tomorrow. Really didn't expect this though

Yeah, it is hard to expect 81 puncheur to win the hilly stage.
Congrats
Anyway, nice report and great job from Rabon for Metinvest, sitting at 7th in GC and holding up there with the big boys bar Froome. It seems that his acceleration and fighter spirit can help him overcome hilly abilities deficit somehow. I hope we will not be strucked by disaster in last stage and this tour will be nice success with decent points from Rabon/Hoffman combo.

Great result from Ben Nasser, 3rd was probably the best I could hope for against Froome and Ulissi. 4th overall is great as well, some good points to start off the season. I hope we can retain it on the final stage.
Now to see if Van Staeyen can overhaul Froome with bonuses. |

Cannot see Van Stayen taking the GC really, the last stage is too flat for him to be at his best with the number of sprinters present.
Still Venchi will have done well here along with Quickstep with Froome destroying everyone with an aggressive ride up Willunga. Enjoyed the report once more roturn.
Last years two big names Efimkin and Dowsett didn't follow the moves which I think is a surprise. One or two hilly leaders really missing out. Terrible race for Gazelle as well.

He saw Froome on the move, thinking "why chase my teammate?"
