I still think Popo has the capability to win but he has to be a helper instead of a leader. |

why would it just be roleurs?
example: without the idiots of Lampre to help him defend his lead in the "flat" stage to Bergamo, Di Luca would've lost the Giro
Yes but he didn't which proves my theory aplies in every race Lampre enters.

Yeah, but even the Lampre people aren't stupid enough to think Cunego can win the Tour, so that won't happen there

Maybe not Cunego but i'm pretty sure they'll go with Napolitano for the yellow shirt... No doubt...

I think winning the big tours is almost as important to have supporting class then have having a really good rider. |

Elk Haus-Simplon (Aut), Team Volksbank (Aut), Landbouwkrediet-Tönissteiner (Bel), Topsport Vlaanderen (Bel), AndalucÃa-Cajasur (Spa), Karpin Galicia (Spa), Agritubel (Fra), Barloworld (GBr), CSF Group Navigare (Irl), Acqua & Sapone-Caffè Mokambo (Ita), Tinkoff Credit Systems (Ita), Skil-Shimano (Ned), BMC Racing Team (USA), Slipstream Chipotle - H30 (USA) and Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni-Androni Giocattoli (Ven)
The list of wild-cards. As predicted, no LPR. Get ready to see them getting their Giro invite revoked (hopefully)

nope. only those teams can be invited for any ProTour event or 3 week Tour.
Considering Angelo Zomegnan and Victor Cordero's words in the last few months, this most likely means no LPR at the Giro and no Benfica at the Vuelta.
which is hardly surprising, considering the riders those teams signed.

This will be a surprising blow for those 2 teams... It's a shame for me... I was looking forward to seeing a Benfica rider being dead last in every Vuelta stage...
Edit: This means that there will be 2 spots to fill in the Giro seeing as LPR and NGC Medical-OTC Industria Porte are nowhere to be seen in that list...

I doubt that LPR will not be in the Giro. Why wouldn't they? It's not like the PT-rules count for the GT's anyway. |

I though that the rules were for the Pro Tour races and any 3 week tours, like isso said...

Zomegnan declared that the teams invited to the Giro d'Italia would have to abide by the UCI's new 'biological passport' program, which applies to ProTour teams and Pro Continental teams which have applied for a 'wild card' designation from the UCI. While invited Pro Continental teams Barloworld, CSF Group Navigare, Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni, NGC Medical-OTC, Slipstream Chipotle and Tinkoff Credit Systems carry the special designation, Team LPR Brakes does not.
Victor Cordero of Unipublic said the same about the Vuelta. The Tour however, has nothing to do with these wildcards
EDIT: looking at it better, my choice of quote was horrible.
also, with these people you can never be sure of anything. so I'm not jumping on the "team x will surely be/not be there" bandwagon just yet.

We can't talk about wildcards, but only about participating teams. Don't forget about new, super and smart ProTour calendar |

L'Equipe wrote something about the ASO-directors considering not to invite Cofidis. That would be quite a shock. |
