sutty68 - Yes, hopefully a good start to the season.
Tour of Qatar: Stage 4
Not what we needed.
The fourth stage of Qatar began with a 6 man breakaway and was out there until the last 30km. This wasn't good for Sutton as he needed some bonus seconds, as he believes that he wouldn't be capable of producing it on the Final sprint. At the 15km mark Christian Knees started the Sky sprint train with Ian Stannard taking it up at 7km to go with just Sutton on his wheel. At the 5km mark Stannard was at the front of the peloton, But this didn't last as Stannard was pushed from the front by Giant Shimano. At the 1km banner Daniele Bennati was leading the filed but Marcel Kittell took todays stage in-front of Mark Cavendish, Daryl Impey took the last podium place. Sutton came 5th.

sutty68 - Hopefully he can get them on the other stages.
Vuelta ciclista a Mallorca: Stage 4(Final Stage)
Wiggins safely through last day in Mallorca.
Team Sky did the same as the last stage setting a high tempo breaking almost most of the field. The first sprint was won by Bradley Wiggins who was looking for some valuable bonus seconds to jump up the GC. At the bottom of the third category 2 climb Damiano Cunego attacked and gained up to three minutes. Vasil Kiryienka was setting such a high pace that he broke up all of the field and a new group formed including Vasil Kiryienka, Bradley Wiggins, Race Leader Michele Scarponi and Gerald Cioleck. This group gained up to two and a half minutes on a chasing group containing all the GC Contenders and Stage favourites. But this group didn't last as they were brought in with 10km to go. Damiano Cunego was still far ahead. At the 5km mark Bradley Wiggins attacked but couldn't last as Gerald Cioleck launched a sprint. Damiano Cunego's early attack saw him win the stage by 1 minute and 29 seconds. Second was Gerald Cioleck and Henrich Haussler came in the last podium place. Bradley Wiggins, Vasil Kiryienka and Kanstantin Siutsou came in the main group. Bradley Wiggins secured a great 4th place in the GC, This is a great start to the season for Brad hopefully a sign of good things to come.

Tour Mediterraneen: Stage 2
Another podium for Porte.
A big day in-store for the peloton as a massive big climb towards the end would surely split up the field. The race had only gone 20km and almost half of the field had been dropped due to a great pace from sky. One by one each Sky rider took there turn on the front but at the bottom of the climb Giant Shimano took over. This didn't last as Sky wanted the front but this knackered Lopez and Earle. So it was just Nieve leading out Porte with 25km to go and most of the final climb left. Nieve did an amazing job dropping mossed of the field temporarily, for a few km. At the top of the climb Nieve peeled of leaving Porte isolated. Voeckler attacked Porte got on to his wheel as did Valverde, Barguil(Race Leader), Uran and Bardet. But no-one could keep up with the 34 year old veteran. This split up the group with Voeckler out front, Then Porte firmly on Valverde's wheel and then Bardet and Uran. Behind them was Kwiatkowski, Barguil, Peraud, Chavanel and Nieve. Porte managed to gain a rest sitting on Valverde's wheel on the decent, so he attacked with 3km to go, leaving Valverde 20 seconds behind. Porte couldn't bridge the gap to Voeckler as he took the stage +31 seconds ahead of Porte and 43 seconds ahead of Valverde. Uran came 4th with Bardet 5th. Nieve came in 10th 2 minute and 32 seconds down.

Tour of Qatar: Stage 5
Sky blow the peloton apart.
The fifth stage of Qatar began with a minor scare for race leader Manuele Boaro suffered a flat but was straight back on to the peloton. Edvald Boasson Hagen, Gabriel Rasch, Luke Rowe and Danny Pate shared duties at the front. They did a great job stopping a breakaway forming for the first sprint were Chris Sutton won a 3 second bonus. After this sprint a 4 man breakaway formed. With about 40km to go the roads narrowed and the peloton split with Chris Sutton dropped, Luckily he got back with 30km to go. Other Sky riders suffered Gabriel Rasch and Luke Rowe so they decided that this is the end of Qatar for them and withdrew. With 15km to go the pace was high and the peloton shrunk down to 30 riders. Sky's train hit the front with 10km to go and made this worse making it just 10km to go. Ian Stannard broke of the Sky train with 5km to go and Bernhard Eisel put on the hurt with just 7 riders left in the pack. At 1km Sutton launched the sprint with Tyler Farrar on his wheel .Cavendish, Kittel and Bennatti couldn't hold on. Farrar took it on the line in-front of Sutton, Cavendish was third with Bennatti and Kittel behind him. Bernhard Eisel and Ian Stannard were the only other riders to make that front group 53 seconds ahead of Yoann Offredo and race leader Manuele Boaro.

Tour of Qatar: Stage 6(Final Stage)
Podium for Sutton.
The sixth and last stage of Qatar was a short but hectic stage. There was no breakaway due to a high pace from Sky, And they broke up most of the peloton. Edvald Boasson Hagen put in a great effort at the front of the peloton so decided to pull out with no GC aspirations. The two sprints today were won by Chris Sutton and gained 6 bonus seconds, which puts him level with leader Tyler Farrar. All he needs to do is come ahead of Farrar, Cavendish and Kittel. With 15km to go Mark Cavendish attacked but didn't get to far. The Sky train hit the front with 8km to go with Stannard peeling off, leaving just Eisel and Sutton. At 2km Eisel had burst the whole peleton apart but had blown himself apart. With 0,5km to go Eisel and Sutton where a few bike lengths ahead of Cavendish, but Eisel and Sutton had gone to early and where pulling up. Cavendish took it in-front of Sutton and Eisel. Cavendish takes the GC by 4 seconds on Sutton and 10 seconds on Farrar.

Tour Mediterraneen
Another podium for Porte.
Today's stage saw a 1 man breakaway which was Sebastian Henao of Sky. He would stay out there until the end taking all of the KoM jersey's and Intermediate Sprints. With Sebastian henao out front Sky got a day off at the front, so Europcar took over with race leader Thomas Voeckler eyeing up today's stage. Towards the end many people tried attacking like Thomas Voeckler and Alejandro Valvarde so Sky took up the front of the Peloton. They tried many times but failed. Because of Sky setting such a high pace Henao was brought in with 15km to go. Thomas Voeckler and Michal Kwiatkowski attacked with 5km to go and they were looking promising with all Sky riders tiring. With 1km to go Kwiatkowski launched the sprint with Voeckler on his wheel struggling, Meanwhile the chasing peleton was just behind them with Richie Porte bringing the field towards the leaders out front. Kwiatkowski took it in-front of Voeckler, Porte took the last podium place gaining the same time as Voeckler. Things were looking good for tomorrows Time Trial stage with Porte only 27 seconds behind, Surely he would close the gap.
Results:
Stage:
1. Michal Kwiatkowski | Omega Pharma Quick Step | | 2. Thomas Voeckler | Europcar | | +0 | 3. Richie Porte | Team Sky | | +0 | 4. Alejandro Valverde | Movistar | | +0 | 5. Warren Barguil | Giant Shimano | | +0 |
