Eddie Stobart Pro Cycling will have a earlier than expected season start after being invited to race the Bay Classic Series in Australia.
The squad will contain the following five riders : Mark Renshaw, Nathan Earle, Cameron Wurf and Neil and Paul Van der Ploeg. It will be the first chance for the team to race in the Eddie Stobart colours and will be a good way of judging fitness and form ready for the season opener |

Cool to see you posting previews for the Bay Crits! Like said before, i'm a fan of your lineup there. Earle, Van Der Ploegs and former Oz Cycling-disaster Renshaw should be fun to follow. Maybe they will grab you some lucky points.

The Final race calendar for the new season has just been conformed by the Management and it will see the team visit twenty nine different Countries.
It looks like this is going to be a long and tiring season for the team

A preview from Sownz titled ''The new breed: Smowz's CT preview''
A clear case of a leaderless team with no real plan of how to score strong enough to sustain any type of momentum and it could be a long year for Eddie Stobart. The good thing is this team do have a nice amount of domestiques for future seasons and if featured in breakaways may just take more results than they first appear. Some very high wages paid for mediocre riders like Earle for example. Two riders who could surprise are sprinters Renshaw and Opie. Renshaw took some good results at Cadburys last year and Opie whilst needs better racing then CT races has better than average climbing ability for a C2 sprinter.
Eddie Stobart got into some strange bidding wars and could fall down into the lower reaches. They have a very decent baseline, just no leaders whatsoever (and no Renshaw doesn't count)

A little update from Snowz - The new breed: Smowz's CT preview
Sutty It is a solid team with a real good base your one. It just lacks something at the top end, reminds a bit of Cadburys that I race planned for last year - with a bit of luck results should hopefully come your way.

BAY CLASSIC SERIES
TEAM PREVIEW
Eddie Stobart Pro Cycling
The British CT-squad received a wildcard for obvious reasons: with five Aussies on the team, Eddie Stobart could well become a fan-favorite at The Bay this year!
An it's also some well known names Down Under, that will try and go for some decent results in the Crits: Nathan Earle (who scored a nice 9th place in the hilly crit riding for Team UniSA last season) and the Van der Ploeg-brothers all had pretty good seasons in Australia's National Road Series in 2013. The Van der Ploegs look like good breakaway riders, so this may be their big chance to go for results.
Other than that, the team may hope for some strong sprints by veteran Mark Renshaw. Though lacking the top speed, Renshaw comes off a pretty good season in the CT and could show some smart tactics in the bunch sprints. Maybe not a serious contender, but someone to watch out for.

22. Stobart. No real top class leader but huge depth, very reliant on Renshaw and Opie, who should be great at this level. Look out for Wurf |

BAY CLASSIC SERIES
Well we have just finished the teams first outing in a race series and all in all we were happy with our contribution to the event.
Whilst we didn't challenge for race wins nor did we expect to, strong performances from the guys and Cameron Wurf especially made it all worth while and makes us all even hungrier for the Season start |
